The Killing Joke movie wasn't so bad...I guess the BruceBabs stuff was to give Barbara more of a role in the movie beyond being shot and hurt to give angst for both her father and Batman but honestly, it just came out so unnecessary.

And the entire first half of the film had absolutely nothing to do with the second half that they should have just halved the entire movie and made it an episode about Joker and Batman, and getting deeper on Joker's past. I liked the history of the Red Hood I gotta say lol.

Joker is really scary, that I had to search him up and all the horrible stuff he did. Everybody wants him dead, and has gotten enough of him. It makes no sense to keep him alive in the world we live in, or in the sense of even if Batman captures him and puts him in jail..it makes no sense for them to just send him to Arkham when at this point, he should be getting the death penalty but I guess it's illegal where they live so... Is the death penalty illegal in New Jersey? Idk...

Guess there's not way to kill him, and Batman definately won't.

Seriously did not understand the heart to heart at the end and what's weird is that Batman planned to talk to Joker that way...to give him a second chance despite everything he's done...like why? He literally killed Jason Todd and it was shown in the movie too with one of the pics showing Robin's dead body...

The guy also crippled Barbara Gordon

And tried to torture his friend Commissioner Jim Gordon (though I mean at this point...Batman just had sex with Jim's daughter so...)

And for some reason, his solution is rehabilitation? After every horrible thing he's done? To innocent people?

Anyway, I gotta say it was nice to see other people who have the same idea of how things should be or rather a way for Joker to die..

If Batman can't do it... let Red Hood do it.

And let him be the new villain. It's poetic in a way.

At the same time...no! Don't let Jason be a Batman villain replacing Joker. Don't let him be Joker!

Most people will never truly accept DickBabs, because it was doomed from the start. Barbara Gordon was originally created to be Bruce Wayne’s love interest, not Dick’s. Even after DC retconned her age and history to make her fit with Dick, it doesn’t change the fact that, to the general audience, Batgirl will always be seen as Batman’s female counterpart — his Batgirl, his reflection. That association is too deep in pop culture to undo.

Movies like The Killing Joke branded Barbara permanently in people’s minds as Bruce’s flame. Most casual fans don’t read the comics — they know the adaptations, and in those, Barbara is constantly tied to Batman, not Nightwing. I read the comics, I know Barbara isn’t Bruce’s love interest there, but the general audience doesn’t see it that way.

And DickBabs fans really need to stop blaming Bruce Timm for that. Yes, Timm has a creepy obsession with Bruce/Babs, but he didn’t create it — that ship existed long before him. He just doubled down on what DC already laid the groundwork for.

So tell me, why would Dick Grayson — the man who literally became Nightwing to escape Batman’s shadow — date Batman’s female counterpart? It makes no sense. It pulls him right back into the world he wanted to get away from.

Starfire, on the other hand, was created for Dick. A space princess, bright, bold, different — she symbolized everything he wanted: freedom, warmth, and individuality. It was unconventional, but it worked. It wasn’t just romance; it was storytelling synergy.

In think you've already answers this but what do you think of brucebabs?

yeah not a fan. I mean Babs has two dads in a way, Barbara Gordon has Jim Gordon as her father, but Batgirl, Oracle that side of Babs life, Bruce is her father figure and that’s their relationship very much adult child with a parent, a friendship bounded by him being dad. 

So making it a romantic thing misses the point, lessens a great relationship (which modern DC has pissed away any ways), and fucks up the relationship that Dick and Babs have/have had which is such a big part of both of them, Batgirl and Robin and all that, even if you don’t believe they should be together forever, it’s a big part of their characters and it would have to change everything between all of them to have Bruce in the middle of that.

I'm just going to come out and say it since a lot of you were worried about the Lego Batman movie. If you want to be reassured for yourself in the theatre, don't click the read more. But anyway, go see it, it's great.

Bruce/Babs was not a thing. There were a few awkward hints but it was pretty handily shut down.

JokerBats however was completely canon and I can't bring myself to be too upset over that because it was hilarious.

this was literally the last DC property I had hope for someone get me a drink
