ok think about this
kaeya bringing diluc to his house after diluc and childe had a big argument, right? let's say childe called diluc names like annoying or MAYBE even stupid?! protective kaeya mode on. the second childe knocks on kaeyas door asking for diluc he does a full on rant on why he's an asshole and how he should leave right now. diluc just sleeping in the background because he passed out from all the crying.
Oof man
So I think this would be one of the few times Childe would just take it. He doesn't put up with a lot of Kaeya's shit, but he would know that he kind of deserves it this time. Because Diluc was just being annoyingly calm, and he kept trying to escalate.
And I think at the end of Kaeya's lecture, Childe would be like
"Yeah, I know I fucked up... can I talk to him and apologize?"
"... Maybe tomorrow. He is asleep now."
And Childe peaks in. And he can kinda see from Diluc's body language that he's been crying. And that just breaks Childe's heart. He'd really want to take Diluc Home but knows it's probably better for Diluc to stay here tonight.
"Can I stay too?"
"I think it's just better you go home." Kaeya would be calmer seeing Childe be remorseful but still pissed and in protection mode. Definitely would not let him near unless Diluc wanted him. Honestly, I can see Diluc trying to leave before Kaeya gets up the next morning and going about his day trying to pretend like nothing happened last night. Which would not make the situation better for anyone.
