the part that had been giving me trouble was a really big part of the plot, and the issue that i was running into wasn’t that i didn’t know how to write it, but that i didn’t know how to plot it. like. throughout the fic, bruce has been recovering from what I like to call Schrodinger's trauma, some kind of traumatic event that the fic doesn’t explicitly discuss. and i got to this point where it would be discussed explicitly so I had to ask myself, do I really want to open this box? do i really want to lose the ambiguity that had been serving the fic so well up to this point?

i still kept some of the ambiguity. i’m really glad with how that scene turned out in the end. now i should be back on track with more normal scenes focused on john and bruce’s relationship, so hopefully the progress will be steady. i already wrote like 500 words yesterday so. it’s getting there :D it certainly helps that finals are around the corner, so i might work on it more since i’m procrastinating on schoolwork!
