Batman ships:

I like shipping gotham characters with other(and for the most part only. But it depends on the fic.) gotham(and or gotham adjacent) characters. Mainly because I feel no one can understand or relate to someone from gotham besides someone else from gotham. Or at least been and has lived there for a while.

Perhaps this is just me and not as based in character as I feel it is, but I feel like when Batman and Harley Quinn are friends, they’re closer a screwball comedy, and when Batman and Harley Quinn are a love story, it’s closer to a drama.

I believe this because, unlike so many other rogues who I can easily and not inaccurately joke are committing wacky and theatric crimes just so Batman pays attention to them, Harley already got into this world for obsessive love once - for the Joker. And even if that’s over, I feel like any development that would have lead to her pining over Batman, that would have to be actually earnest. That would be based on a real change of emotions, not jokes. Like the mountains her relationship with Ivy has had to surpass. But probably even higher, imo.

Anyways, I’m not commenting on how anything should be done or if a ship is better or worse or anything close to that. I’m just sorta saying my thoughts.
