A beast that contaminates outdoor sources of potable water. Typically some sort of beast, and is referred to as a troll in a sense of the word.
This is a concept art, my design for a Brunnmigi, a creature from nordic mythology. It appears in Magnus Chase and the hammer of Thor. It´s said that it looked like a mix between a wolf and a bear, with curvy claws. There were no horns mentioned but hey, they look cool.
It killed Andiron.
It´s something personal.
Myling - Ghost babies. Pretty simple design. Dokkalfar - The wide range of dark elves native Svartalfheim. They differ from ljosalfar (light elves) in that they're hard working, honest, unimaginative, always own up to their word, and are incurably greedy. The species depicted here are: the brunnmigi (tall fellow in the back) the rock-dwelling dvergar (particularly hair guy on the right) and normal dokkalfar (the dudes holding the hammer and sitting down). While they all display some types of cleverness and sapience, only the dokkalfar use it in the same way people do. Most of the other species are comparable to wild animals, some like the brunnmigi not even known to craft and smelt. Hidebehind - A variant of brunnmigi brought to 'Merica by the Nordic immigrants. Unfortunately, due to the lack of wells to piss in, they had to adapt to more rural settings. These adaptations include: a shorter stature (lots of wells are deeper than trees are tall, the guy above's basically standing pretty far away), larger and firmer hands to grab prey, and a bushy tail with which to be mistaken for a lovable little dog. Sea Lindworm - Lindworms (norse dwags) native and adapted to marine environments. Their manes are supposed to be amphibious-external gills, as a bunch of sopping wet hair would not aid in swimming at all. Nachtkrapp - German, Slavic, and Norse plague spirits (not to be confused w/ valravn). During the beginning of the plague to spirits began infesting raven corpses, owing to their appearance. Giant, almost cassowary sized, birds with no eyes and ripped wings which glide silently through the night (except sometimes on windy days you can hear a little whistle..). When the opportunity arises, they gulp children or small animals into their throat sacs to be torn apart in their hive-nest. Ljosalfar - Spirits of the fog and moor from Alfheim, where Freyr (unwillingly) rules. Almost completely separated from their modern fantasy counterparts, these parasites deal with kings while alive to make their barrows a portal to Alfheim, where they will spend eternity in Freyr's halls. The catch is that the barrow will be the residence of elves.. A few other favorite pastimes of elves are: kidnapping people, stealing from people, lying to authorities, messing with people's heads, not work, and hoard gaudy junk (for less of a 'oh it's mine, all mine!' reason like dokkalfar, but more of a 'I want it because it'll make someone else incredibly jealous that they don't' reason). Comparable to trolls, no wait, that'd be an injustice to trolls, who can be said to be quite generous and hard-working for a price, huldrefolk, not to be confused with Icelandic Huldufolk, are thumb sized elves that live in nooks, crannies, and nicks from which they shoot miniscule arrows that cause colds and rashes.
'In Norse mythology, a Brunnmigi (Old Norse "well-pisser") is a being who defiles wells encountered by King Hjörleifr in Hálfs saga ok Hálfsrekka and, as recorded in the Prose Edda þulur, is also a kenning applied to foxes.' - [x]
