The scent is soothing to me and quite enjoyable. I gave the rest of this large sample to a friend who I’ve recently converted to wet shaving. This brush is a solid lather-maker and a pleasure to use. The razor handle has a better grip than it’s slick polish would suggest. The always performing aftershave is one of my favorites. Tomorrow is THE big shaving event. I’m looking forward to seeing friends, making new ones, and discovering more wet shaving products. I’ve entered the Big Shave Best’s “Speed Shave” competition. You Say Leather, I Say Lather Shaves of the 3 Days 2017 04 12 • Soap & Aftershave: @masonboutique TLM • Brush: @brushguy_com with a 24mm BOSS knot • Razor: @rodgeorge005 handle and Grand Shave King (1940s) head with an Astra Superior Stainless (blue) blade This kit made me discover three new artisans who produce amazing goods. The soap creates a slick protective lather with strong conditioning ability, while the aftershave aptly continues the skin soothing process. The hours-long lasting scent note is leather, which I enjoy as it recalls the scent memory/feeling of getting new shoes to replace disintegrating, but still comfy enough old ones. The teak and mahogany notes are at the top, but dissipate quickly. The vintage razor head provides a mild shave. This razor handle is as effective as it is shiny. I love the look of polished stainless steel and brass. Another looker is this brush.
