We traveled across #Morocco last summer and our final stop before leaving was #Fez. We met two barbers who we ultimately filmed with. The first was Mr. Lotfi’s barbershop that has been tucked away in the Old Medina for as long as people can remember.

When we asked Mr. Lotfi if he receives many travelers in his barbershop, he let us know he has seen international customers over the years. There was one he particularly remembers. A young American visiting Morocco who once stopped by and got a shave. He spoke very good French and they chatted for a while before they parted.

Several years later Mr. Lotfi was sitting in his barber chair waiting for the next customer to walk in. As a shadow fell across the doorway he looked up and saw a tourist entering the shop. It was the same American from all those years earlier! He was traveling with his family, and since he was back in Fez he made a point of coming back to the barbershop. He got a shave and they chatted again before he left.

Mr. Lotfi was happy that the American remembered him after all these years and stopped by to see him again ❤️
