I bound Silence, Bloody and Raw by slapfool
(and also Silence, Screaming In The Night as a little Digestivo chapter at the end)

This fic is a Blackpool Combat Club meets Silence of the Lambs!AU so I wanted each chapter to start with a little medallion of the wrestlers and which characters they play. (Having the American Dragon as the Red Dragon/Francis Dolarhyde is absolutely insane btw like all of these are perfectly cast but Jesus Christ, slapfool) I wanted it to be on the right side, (which is always an odd page btw) so it would be facing up. And I didn’t want any page numbers or headers on that page, as well as the first page of the chapter. Microsoft Word is super unintuitive. But when it works it works. This video also helped. Odd section breaks, man. And! You can continue the page numbers from the previous sections. Just remember that an odd section break will add invisible pages. So you’ll just switch from page 7 to page 9 or from page 8 to page 9. Drove me a little insane, that.

It’s a retelling of Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal and what would Hannibal be without TattleCrime? Freddie Lounds, my love. (Btw. MJF is Freddie Lounds in this one, like what??? Slapfool, your mind) There’s also a bunch of headlines in the book which I thought were too hilarious to not include in my endpapers. I took a screenshot of the TattleCrime magazine from the show and then rebuilt it in Canva. This was actually super fun to do. And funnily enough I started to get why people use InDesign for magazine covers and articles. Cuz yes it was fun but editing was a hassle lol.

I also found this beautiful artwork on Pinterest and edited Yuta and Mox into it, exported it as an svg file and had my cricut cut it out of HTV foil. Lemme just start by saying… weeding this shit… was a pain. Don’t even get me started on the book title on the spine. Don’t ask. But I love the way it looks. It looks exactly like the red wine from the Hannibal intro

I really love how it turned out. I’d probably pick a larger font for the medallions but I learned a lot nonetheless. There’s so much stuff you can do and I’m so excited I somehow managed to figure this out. When I found this fic I all but binged it in one sitting. And then I read the other one shots in the series. And I’m currently reading the sequel and it’s already pretty damn great. Mox/Will Graham’s relationship with Bryan/Dolarhyde is giving me life.
