Eme from Black Sails. Fountain pen on vellum and a bit of rotring pen in the background shading. My very old sketch of Eme got reblogged out of the blue this week, so I’ve done an update. ^_^
Black Sails Female Costumes: Escaped Slaves
A very different style that we see some of the women wear is the style of the marooners - Madi and her mother, though it is also worn by Ruth and Eme. From a costumer’s perspective, it makes sense to differentiate each of these women; in terms of accuracy, it makes no sense for these women to be wearing a style any different to the other women of Nassau.
Madi and Eme and a lot of purple.

Black Sails Moomin AU - PART II. (Part I here).
I couldn’t resist doing more of these a couple of months ago and this has been sitting in my drafts since then and now I finally decided to post it. If you are not familiar with the Moomins and/or Black Sails, then this probably doesn’t make any sense, but anyway... Please, do not repost elsewhere :D
(Click the pics for English explanation. The species/characters were quite randomly chosen, though.)

Happy International Women’s Day!
i know those men above better than you, and when they put you in [chains] they don’t mean to let you go. you have a chance to go home again, yet you just sit there. maybe you’re right - you and i are not the same.
