I love love love the animation of caligari’s death, it just tells so much— the watchers in their coffins crumbling into rot, after already being left to atrophy alive for so long
And I’m sad about LDG’s death (FREE MY GIRL SHE DID NOTHING WRONG) (MAYBE SOME THINGS WRONG BUT WHO GAF!!!) I really love the implications we get from just those last moments
Like, holy shit, her pinstriped hair and suit wasn’t just a styled pattern, it was straight up Caligari’s threads running through her body???
And how she collapses and she’s just a lifeless top half, her jacket seems empty under the cloth, just like how Caligari is just a floating, embodied suit/hat/glove ensemble. Like this leaves so many potential questions about what her situation was, because it’s clearly different from the watchers— was she just an extension of Caligari all along? Like a decoy person with an illusion of individuality? Or was she originally her own person, and Caligari subsumed her directly into himself when he needed a desk clerk? That’s horrifying!! But it’s so juicy to think about!!
