BLAINE:
If doing something as simple as just fidgeting from foot to foot to that ice cream shop’s unsurprisingly bubbly music felt jarring, he’d hate to pinpoint exactly when and where his social life had started catapulting downhill; But Pepper was there soon enough to greet with a warm smile and one-armed hug, and if the fact that the weirder corners of his mind had started absent mindedly referring to her as some kind of teenaged Mother Nature wasn’t enough reason for worry, he seriously didn’t know what was.
“You can probably tell I’m not even close to vegan,” Blaine said, tucking his hands into his jacket pockets and resting his chin on her shoulder while his eyes ran down the bulleted menu. “But I’m game. So walk me through this... this...” Ducking his head, he slipped his phone from his pocket just far enough to read off the screen. “Most of the nutrient facts look pretty similar from what I can tell, and almond milk sounds great. Confusing, but great.”
