Underwhelmed Today….

This morning I thought I was going to get an episode of my beloved Run BTS… and instead it was 12 minutes of discussion around changing everything we cherish about our funky silly little variety show. 😭

If yall don’t want to do it as OT7 or can’t find a way to schedule it as OT7 that’s okay, but it’s not Run BTS if it’s not all of BTS. 🥲

And then the Hooligan mv left me underwhelmed too. Were the visuals great? Of course, it’s BTS. But it was doing too much for me. Only 10 seconds of Jimin but we needed two women featured??? Why??? There wasn’t a clear story line that needed them to be there. You wanted someone to wield some swords? Cool you have a siren in your group who happens to be trained kendo??? Like???? Why are you not utilizing him?

I sound like a pjm solo rn and I promise I am not!!! It’s just all that for??? We didn’t even see as much of the choreo either. I actually preferred their TikTok over the music video. 😂

Overall, Hooligan isn’t one of my favorite songs on the album anyway but still.

I’ll always laugh at the performative feminism that comes out as soon as a women breathes on a project near the tannies. Like people instantly have to start hyping them up to overcompensate for the fact that they didn’t have to be there… Especially in this case. If you aren’t going expand the mv into an actual narrative story then what was the point? The song is already short anyway. I digress… Just not my day it seems. Here’s to hoping for an actually decent interview and shenanigans on Hot Ones.
