Mostly this week I have been fiddling around pottering, and not being terribly focused! But having thought about it I have done quite a few bits and bobs. I made a #bubblepod to keep headphone and charger cables in (in headphones material 😁of course) did some tiny quilting on a piece of printed cloth by @inkymole that a Easter egg came wrapped up in, some #crumbblocks (to use up some scraps), and made some strips into striped fabric. I made it. I made it to #podcastsunday ! Let's talk about Bubble from @maxfunhq . Bubble is about a city called Fairhaven, a literal corporate bubble, where monsters, referred to as "Imps" manage to get in from "The Brush" periodically. Tongue firmly in cheek, Bubble makes fun of the gig economy, corporate culture, tech workers, etc. But also...where are all these Monsters coming from? Our intrepid heroes are Morgan, monster slayer and "Brush baby", and her roommate, Annie, who together have managed to setup a business refining and selling imp blood to junkies. Also, there's Mitch a Postmates driver, who gets bit by a monster, and as a side effect, now understands them, and can shoot toxic goo and light from his hand...Morgan tells him he has "The Sting" now. Now the corporate overlords who manage the bubble and brought Morgan inside have noticed her drug business, and have "suggested" to her she should take part in their new gig app for hunt the Imps instead. As a brushling, Morgan has the monster hunting skills, and Mitch has his new powers, and together, they're both gonna make enough money to pay their respective rents! Huzzah! Nothing could possibly go wrong. Bubble is a fun spec-fic show that's well worth your time. Created in 2018, it's only one season long. While that season feels relatively self-contained storywise, they've built a pretty impressive world here, and intermittently, chatter pops up that they'll make more! Who knows, pods I thought were done, sometimes reappear after years away! They did announce back in September that they were developing a graphic novel for Bubble, so there's at least one other way to get your fix!
