I just want to see Eddie hold Buck during Bucks breakdown. It’s a necessity at this point.
I think we really are going to get Buddie this season
We now have two instances of Buck asking about life and happiness and feeling satisfied with it.
First with the question on how to be at ease.
Second with the question on finding happiness.
Both of these questions Buck directs at Hen.
I think the show is setting the scene to show that Buck will be making this self discovery journey with the guidance and sounding board of Hen.
What might come with that is also Hen helping Buck realize and accept who he is including his sexuality and embracing his feelings for Eddie.
changing pilgrimage to what's your fantasy like... imagine buck has his breakdown and he tells eddie that he's not sure he's happy, that he doesn't think he'll ever be at ease and eddie is like "we'll find what makes you happy, what makes you at ease i promise" and buck is reading his self-help book and it tells him to visualise his perfect day and then he comes to the realisation that his ideal day is just being with his diaz boys and the reason he wasn't at ease before was because he couldn't work out what it was that he was feeling when he was with them but Now he Knows exactly what it is and all of eddie's little looks finally make sense and then he speeds to the beach in his jeep to tell eddie he found his happiness
So I was thinking about episode 7 of season 6 at the end. When Eddie is talking about his and Christopher's trauma associated with water and the beach, it makes me really happy to see Eddie's progress because obviously talking about it freely like he did, does count as progress.
But it also makes me think again about Buck's trauma with the pier and water. Because we don't actually know if Buck ever dealt with that trauma in a healthy way. It just hasn't been discussed as far as we are aware.
And I think it's important to recognize this when we consider Buck's possible future breakdown, because if it doesn't come up in the acknowledgement of his trauma I will be disappointed in the show writers.
His entire tsunami arc was bracketed by two other low points or traumatic moments in Buck's life and that can't be ignored when talking about the latter mentioned trauma.
I'm sure this has been discussed before but I think I just need to acknowledge it again.

Buck hasn’t grasped that in all these years, that people will stay for him. People will drag their feet through the mud and wait for him to start moving too. Eddie will turn his head against time and turn his back to the sun and hold his hand out for Buck to take. Eddie would eclipse the earth with his own shadow if it meant having Buck by his side.
The lawsuit was hard. Eddie was anxious and angry and came to work with bruises and poorly- stitched lacerations. He’d come up, snapping and snarling at any hand trying to feed him. He came to work with a dead wife, a healing child, and a positively aching soul. Hen didn’t know where to put her hands to make his hurt stop then, but she might now.
Under the wounded animal of Eddie were the layers of hurt from missing Buck.
And he still doesn’t get it.
“Buck.” Hen says quietly. “Eddie is never going to move on without you, or-or leave you behind.”
Buck looks up at her through his wet lashes. “He should.”
buck gets worse before he gets better, hen talks to him about it, eddie will always be there
