I spent $50 on groceries today. Needless to say I bought some healthy things such as a tote of apples for like $4.39 (there's a ton of locally grown apples in that bag), baby carrots, potatoes (I got three on sale for $.49 a lb, 2lbs worth) and I got two oranges for $1. Then I stocked up on pasta, I got like three boxes and two cans of sauce, I also got a box of mac&cheese and a pasta side alfredo thing.
I think the most expensive things I bought were kitty litter and cat food and those both were like $5 each. I also got some kool aid to try and it's delicious (new strawberry kiwi kind, I've been seeking this flavor all summer), 2 mountain dew 2liters for $3, frozen hash browns, frozen broccoli, one frozen mac&cheese meal. I also got some new smartfood popcorn stuff to try that was like $3 but the bag is stocked and I got my awesome sourdough pretzel nuggets.
ANYWAYS the moral of this is that I won't be grocery shopping for at least a week if not more and when I do go grocery shopping again it will be for like milk, eggs... stuff of that sort. I am also attempting to be healthier and eat less meat although I cannot cut it totally out of my diet again because I suck at eating protein. I'm pretty stocked up on things so that's good. I need to figure things out for lunch for when work starts again at Jiminy since peanut butter & jelly and granola bars are out of the question since we're peanut free.
I feel like an ass saying I spent that much on food, I feel like a dick to myself for allowing myself to spend that much on food. I am not allowed to say there's nothing to eat because there's so much now. And I am not allowed to eat out again for at least a week (if not more). I'm really trying to buckle down on everything.
