Just for clarification you ship buckykate romantically ?

sort of but only really in my hypothetical mcu au where kate is mid twenties to begin with as opposed to meeting him as a teenager when he’s clearly an adult like in the comics (tho i also could dig some teenage kate/teenage bucky via time shenanigans if someone would just write that lol)i dont really like sexually explicit stuff so even if im shipping them romantically its not gunna be sexual in my mind. the extent of their physical relationship would be hand holding and forehead/cheek kisses, maybe some light cuddling after nightmares.i headcanon that they both crave physical comfort but bc of their respective traumas touch often triggers them, other ppl can be rude and invasive but they’re pretty good at reading each other and knowing when casual touchy feeliness will be welcome and when it will be upsetting. theyre more like recovery buddies than a couple but people think theyre a couple and they’re like whatever it’s easier than explaining.

imagine kate taking bucky for milkshakes and waffles and it slowly turns into a first date

Bucky stares at the menu for thirteen minutes straight, Kate knows because she timed it.

"What the hell is a ‘strawnana milkshake’?" He asks.

"It’s gross, don’t get it," she answers. "I can’t believe you’ve never had steak n’ shake, I thought that existed around your time?"

"I HAVE had it, it’s just been like 70 years and clearly the menu has changed," Bucky looks over the menu more as the waitress comes over to their table.

"Are you ready to order?" She asks. Kate asks for a chocolate shake and a bacon cheeseburger, when the girl turns to Bucky, he groans and just orders coffee.

"You can’t go wrong with coffee, right?" He asks. As the day progresses, they finish their meal, split the bill, Bucky is walking to his car when Kate comes up, throwing a vaguely flirty smile, and hugs him.

"How does Waffle House next weekend sound?" She asks, Bucky nods, looking at his schedule

"Clear with me," he answers, then stops.

"Did we just go out on a date?" Bucky asks, but Kate is already in her car. He watches her leave, and can’t shake the feeling.

"We totally just went out on a date."
