Magna Submariana

There is currently only one known specimen of the Magna Submariana, and it exists in the Great Buddy Lake. It is thought to be as old as the lake itself and to hold some great significance to it. Though its role is not fully understood, its other name is Magna Cortiana, and historical records refer to it as "The Heart of the Great Buddy Lake." Locals revere it and dare not touch it, believing calamity may befall the lake were anything to happen to the Magna Submariana deep within it.

Tuliani

A type of Varia Maria found in Buddy World, Wing Alayna. Its discovery predates its classification as a Varia Maria, which led to an interesting conflict of accounts. One of the initial myths about Varia Marias was that all of them had red flowers. This was disproven fairly early on, but one myth that is persistent is the idea that only one specimen of Varia Maria exists in each location it is found. This led to the idea that a specimen found up north was the Buddy World Varia Maria specimen, when in fact it was one of several. This misconception led to there being two separately identified flowers, the Buddy World Varia Maria up north and the Tuliani found in central Wing Alayna, until the reports were compared and they were found to be the one and the same species.

The Tuliani is thought to be fairly closely related to Fuline Ah Varia Marias such as the Lotiana and Yifli Minitrii.

The stamen have a honey-like taste. The petals are mild with an herbal taste, and the leaves taste rather grassy. The stem is also rather woody, especially closer to the base.

Seems like my compositions have been shrinking lately. 😅 Ah well, I think my other circle composition did really well two years ago so maybe it will be well-received again? Or does this challenge just not do as well here as on Instagram? So far that's been the vibe. Ahhh... kinda makes me wish it wasn't a garbage platform... Anyways! Onto floral descriptions! Electora Flora

Similar to the Lyta Flora, the Electora flora stores up energy from the sun and gives some of it off at night. The rest it stores in its roots, which can be harvested and used as a power source. Very few know how to do this though, as it requires some technical knowledge. Electora roots are commonly used in the Queen's Palace, as she is one of the few who know how to utilize them.

Day off today so you know what I decided to do... finish up these WIPs I hadn’t posted yet! See last time’s post for Kulikuli Dara’s description. The new descriptions are under the cut (thought I should have done this last time... what do you think? Pointless feature, or actually useful in this case? Lemme know I guess).

Myuzika

A relative of the Sweetflute, the Myuzika plant is similarly used as a sort of homegrown orchestra. The plant makes a different sound according to the color of the pipe, and pitch depends on the size of the bulb, which can be made to change over time by adjusting the plant’s environment (more sun = thinner bulb, more shade = larger one). Tendrils grow taut around the two pipes, allowing them to be strummed like an instrument. The curly tendrils at the base can also be tapped for a shaking sound as the hard berries that grow on them bump against each other. There are many other secrets to adjusting the sound of the Myuzika, but only the forest dwellers know all its secrets. The Myuzika can be found natively in the Great Buddy Forest and made to grow in other forests in Wing Alayna such as the Patchimori Forest, though it grows best in its native soil.

String’elle

Another plant in the sylvan symphonic family, the String’elle’s two base vines will grow in completely opposite directions without the help of the plant’s tendrils, which keep the plant taut in a harp-like shape. The plant can be tuned over time by adjusting various elements of its environment, but without artificial intervention it will keep its original tune, allowing the musician to play the instrument in its original form if so desired. 

Yukidamarias

A plant found in the depths of Batulia Songlianne, the continent at JI’s north pole (or Non Pona as it is natively called). It was thought for a long time that nothing grows there aside from the occasional rumor of a Song Tulip (the legendary flower for which the continent is named, though whether the plant actually grows there is somewhat shrouded in mystery), but it would seem that the Yukidamarias does as well. Of course... due to the number of odd things reported there, it’s uncertain at best whether the Yukidamarias was found actually growing in the continent’s soil, or in another dimension’s all together. Nevertheless, dimensional abnormalities aside, it may be safe to say that the legendary flower has company on the mysterious frozen continent. Being a relatively new discovery, not much is known about the plant at this time, though it seems quite decorative.

Koshio Flower

The Koshio Flower can be seen growing only during the dry season of Wing Alayna. It spends most of its time unblossomed, but when it does it produces berries that can be dried and ground to make a spice similar to black pepper. The bits that form on its stamen can also be ground and dried to create a substance similar to salt or pepper depending on its color. The same can be said of the rest of the flower. Dried, the white bits form a salt-like material and the black forms something similar to its berries, though with a slightly different flavor.

Jara Flora While glass-like plants usually grow in Crescent Minoria, many of them can also be cultivated in the shady Great Buddy Forest. The Jara Flora is one example of this. While usually found in Crescent Minoria, it was brought over to Wing Alayna and cultivated in the Forest. Jara Flora can make convenient storage and can be tied up by means of the tendrils on the plant's sepals. The plant can be waterproofed simply by pressing the edges of the petals together to create a seal. Sap can be painted between and over the petal seams to help prevent leakage as well.

They are usually used for dry storage, but with the above adjustments, they can make wonderful sealed vases as well. All the same, the bottom can usually hold a small amount of water without any adjustments.

Jara Flora are often used to store Aquabulla fruits, especially for transport. The hard petals provide a safe place to store fragile fruits.

Clusteria The fruits are favored in jams. They are fairly tart raw, tasting like strawberry, blackberry or grape depending on the season. They are usually found in northwest Buddy World as well as deep south beyond the mountains, near or on the border of Laykia Layna. Left unattended, the ones on the border don't grow as well as the ones up north, which can be left wild and produce better fruit.

Lulia Pathvine One of the three types of Pathvines. Here and there across JI grow enormous vines, bridging land and sky. They are hubs for travelers going up to Sky Buddy World or down to land. They are meeting places, since are easy to spot; landmarks, and ancient plants that have seen many come and go, and survived many a Buddy-Shadow War. Furubara & Stafflant For a long time, the Furubara (left) and Stafflant (right) were considered to be one plant called the Furubara Stafflant. However, research has come out that this is not the case... in some cases. Reports have come out about Furubara vines growing from Stafflant plants, so the issue may be more complicated than first supposed. However, the two plants are rarely if ever seen growing apart, particularly in nature. The current consensus is that they are strongly symbiotic plants that either merge or sometimes appear to be merged together. Whatever the consensus, Furubara fruits are enjoyable for their sweet, spicy, cinnamon-like taste. The Stafflant does not have the best taste, but can definitely be used as a more durable water supply than an Aquabulla fruit. All the same, it will crush if pressed hard. If bits of the Stafflant head are sweetened, they are not terrible in a salad.

Yelia Belia A rain-gathering flower that grows during the rainy season. Its flower can be detached and used as storage. It will continue growing back as long as the rainy season lasts, but once it ends, the flower closes up, so it's customary to leave its flower be at the end of the rainy reason. But for those who've brought their own containers, the flower can be easily tipped to fill them up as much as needed. It is said the flower survives on affection when rain water is scarce, allowing Buddys to take as much water from it as they need, so long as they care for it.

Rolawayva Pichi This plant is well-known for both its leaves and fruit. The Pichi fruit tastes like a sweet peach, but with a hint of banana around the stripes. The leaves, though usually tasteless on their own, make great wraps, though they may need to be softened a little as they can taste a bit rubbery when raw unless plucked young or grown just right. Nevertheless, if you ever get a wrap in Buddy World, you're likely to get something rolled in a Rola leaf.

Patternias

A rare, exotic flower found on certain Furheartian islands; deep within Warminia Songlianne; and a rare sighting indeed in Buddy World, KoWing Alayna.
