I love how, a lot of people who used to be/are Jack Spicer fans are now fans of Guzma who is basically Jack Spicer's older Hawaiian cousin who decided to turn to petty theft instead of world domination after his self-esteem plummeted too low.
Nobody:
Guzma:
Guys, Wimpod/Golisopod's shiny form has the same color pallete as a guzmania plant
I've had this idea before, but the new chapter of the Manga cemented it. Hala talks to Hau and says that him and Guzma would maybe be better suited for Island Kahuna. And yeah, if Guzma can get his anger and violent and self-destructive tendencies in check then he really could fill in the position quite well. And I'm kinda mashing both the Anime, Manga and Games Guzma into one here, but mostly the games, cause that Guzma has come the furthest so far. But imagine Guzma actually becoming Kahuna, probably Ula'ula island. That is such a great au idea and I'm really sad there seems to be almost no content for it.
On a lighter note, you know how, in the games, Kahuna Nanu has to give trainers their starter Pokemon, but he just offers a choice between one of 3 Alolan Meowth because he doesn't bother to get any other Pokemon. Imagine Kahuna Guzma doing the same thing with Wimpod because he wants everyone to know how awesome they are, but everyone else is like, bruh we let it slide with Nanu, but please get different types of Pokemon. And later Guzma shows them his starter trio and everyone is like, but they're all still bug types, and Guzma's like, yeah but all of them have other types, Wimpod's a water type, Cutiefly's a fairy type, and Grubbin's just a bug type but will get the electric type when it evolves, and everyone is just so done with this that they might as well let it happen, at least there's some variety.
During Guzma's entire arc he acted as a foil to Ash. Same in some aspects, but complete opposites in every other. But when their final battle was decided and Guzma realized what he was missing, there were clear parallels between Ash and Guzma as they both gently picked up their Pokemon in the exact same manner. It was a sign of how far Guzma has come already.
So, in the preview for the next episode, it shows Guzma screaming into the sky. What if he's screaming "Guzma what is wrong with you?!" like in the games and manga. This is an important negative trait of his character so I would love it if that happened at some point if not here.
And also, apparently Guzma was yelling at Golisopod cause its Emergency exit activated at the worst possible time which caused his Scizor to take an attack it has a double weakness to, so Guzma isn't yelling at Golisopod just because, he still shouldn't have, don't get me wrong, but I understand his frustration.
Bruh, so in the next episode, Guzma is apparently mad cause he thinks Golisopod's Emergency exit is just Golisopod doing what it wants and not listening so like, what if this episode just ends up being like that episode of Spongebob where Spongebob trains Gary for a race and overexerts him so hard that Gary explodes? Like, just Guzma realizing at one point that he f*cked up and put his partner in danger? That would be interesting to see.
