Saw two of these gorgeous little Steatoda borealis today at work having a sip of water on the side of a client’s house. Those pedipalps are crazyyy I love them. Steatoda are probably my favorite spiders, they’re so nicely shaped 🕷️

Two doorframe dwellers I found in the past couple days, one decidedly more of a pain in the ass than the other but both pretty in their own right

Tan jumping spider Platycryptus undatus (iNat)

Dog tick Dermacentor variabilis (iNat) complete with dog hair

Toxomeres geminatus, a lovely little hoverfly bee mimic with the enigmatic common name Eastern Calligrapher.

Metylophorus novaescotiae - speckled barklouse

Tiny lil baby, about half a cm long :) love the facepaint on these dudes. Spotted evading lady beetles on the side of a garage

Acleris subnivana - bent-winged or common acleris moth

Tiny leaf roller moth bub with very pretty eyes! So tiny that his little tufts are just individual scales, bout 1cm snoot to wingtip. Love how his little paws and darker wing bits look like just the lichen he was sitting on.
