Saw two of these gorgeous little Steatoda borealis today at work having a sip of water on the side of a client’s house. Those pedipalps are crazyyy I love them. Steatoda are probably my favorite spiders, they’re so nicely shaped 🕷️
Boreal Combfoot from Smokey Hollow Dr, Kittery, ME, US on April 1, 2026 at 12:35 PM by Rowan Collins. Those palps are so cute

I thought for sure that an id was out of the question on this cobweb spider, because I only caught a shot of the underside, but it turns out that the shape of the epigyne (external genital structure on females, which is what you probably guessed it was from the name ;-)) is an id character for this species, which Aaron McKee helpfully pointed out is Steatoda borealis.
Triangulate cobweb (or comb footed) spider who lives next to my front door. And her lunch.
