summary: you and bugs go on a date to an outdoor concert despite the fact she should be sleeping before going on a (hopefully) world-saving mission.
notes: literally just wanted to drop this little tooth rotting fluff while battling for my life against this fever. don't even know if anyone has ever asked for this but i am fully obsessed with bugs atm so...
bugs knew she shouldn't have been there. she should have just told you from the beginning about all of this. from the moment she met you, she knew she was hopelessly in love. she couldn't bare to destroy your world so you became her sweet escape.
you were clueless to the fact your girlfriend was literally dealing with the end of the world as you knew it as you bopped along to the music being played. while most would have used the night before an important mission to sleep, bugs decided she wanted to spend those precious hours with you and it just so happened you were going to an outdoor concert.
she helped you pack a blanket and some other essentials to spend the night listening to music under the stars. you originally were going to go with your best friend, but after they got suddenly sick you found yourself going alone, that was until your girlfriend offered to accompany you. you felt like you had barely seen her lately as she's been traveling so much for work so you cherished the time you did get to spend with her.
by the third song you two were already snuggled up enjoying the soft music. you were sat between her legs with her arms wrapped around yours. the position made it so you felt so intimately close to her. feeling her soft breathing against your temple as she interlaced your fingers. she pulled your hands up to her lips kissing the back softly.
"you're so sweet tonight," you remarked turning to look at her over your shoulder.
"am i normally not this affectionate?," she questioned. before you could even answer she flicked her eyes to something behind you. you tried to follow her glance, but she quickly turned pulling away from you and checking her pockets for something.
"what's happening, bugs?," you questioned catching a glimpse of the gun she was hiding under her jacket.
"i have to go, right now. i thought i'd have till morning with you, but i gotta go," she was about to leave, but you stopped her by her arm pulling her back to face you.
"that's not an answer. you can't just go like that," you countered and before she could say anything else you hear a gun go off.
a group of men in black suits were shooting from afar seemingly looking for someone. bugs grabbed your hand pulling you tightly behind her as she led you towards the crowd of people that had dispersed after the gun went off. once you were in the packed crowd she pulled you close pulling you to stand in front of her where she could more easily protect you.
you continued running down the street heading for the parking lot where you left your car. she carefully led you to the car among the chaos of people trying to escape and she led you to hide behind the car so you wouldn't be seen.
"okay, so if im ever gonna give you this option, i have to now," she said finally catching her breathe. "i know that you've always felt something is off... about everything and i want to offer you a choice."
"bugs, wherever you're going, i'm going with you. i don't know where you're going with this, but i love you. i want you no matter what," you cupped her face softly which pulled a small smile from her.
"i haven't given you the choice," she countered.
"i don't need it. i just want the one that involves you."
just as you said that a car screeched to a stop next to you. you instinctively got prepared to take off again when the back doors opened revealing a man and a woman both dressed in sleek black.
"we gotta go NOW," the woman yelled and bugs stood up offering you a hand.
"its your last chance to back out," she offered and you simply took her hand using her to help you stand up.
