let’s clarify...
I just realized that I probably haven’t explained the whole Programs and Specialties thing, so here’s an explanation of all of that, and what that entails. If you have any questions, please feel free to send it into the main!
Think of a room. Inside that room is a bunch of boxes. And inside those boxes are a bunch of smaller boxes, and within those smaller boxes are little figurines. In this metaphor, the figurines are your characters, the smaller boxes are their specialties, the original boxes are the programs, and the room is Camp Arton.
For example, my character Roscoe is in the Adventure Camp program at Camp Arton and my other character Eliza has a specialty in performance in the Performing Art camp program at Camp Arton.
Everyone is at Camp Arton. You are in bunks with people who are not in your same program or specialty. You eat with people who aren’t in your program or specialty. You can be friends with people who are not in your program or specialty because you see them everywhere and all the time. You can take classes that have nothing to do with your program or specialty.
There are a few things that are kept special to each program or specialty, and you can find that information on the descriptive programs page on the main.
In further detail, your characters have programs and specialties to help design their unique camp experience. Your character (and I’m writing this from a camper perspective---if you have questions about your older character, come ask) can take classes in their free class time, but for the majority of their time, the campers will be in classes based on their speciality in their program.
For example, in the Technology Camp program, you would be in technology classes three or four times a day, but you would have one or two times a day to take classes outside of that. And they aren’t always classes. They can be activities too, like canoeing or swimming or archery, etc.
As another example, if you are in the Adventure Camp program, you would be, three or four times a day, doing different things like archery and canoeing, and one or two times a day, you could be doing other things, like taking dance classes or going to a computer class put on by the Technology Camp.
I hope all of that makes sense, and if you have any further and more specific questions, please come ask! I don’t want anyone to feel like they are in the dark!
