THE MINI GAMING LEGACY CHALLENGE (CONVERTED FOR SIMS 3)

Hi everyone, and welcome to the Gaming Legacy Challenge: Mini Edition. This legacy was originally made by @bugsims​ for the Sims 4. I really enjoyed the challenge when I played it and decided to convert it to Sims 3. This version is based off of the “mini” version of the original legacy, and as such, is only five generations long.

BASIC RULES:

Have a spouse and get married unless stated otherwise in the gen rules.

Have at least one kid per generation.

Money cheats can be used, but not excessively!

You can live wherever you’d like unless stated otherwise in the gen rules!

Generation 1: Tomb Raider

‘Growing up, you were always fascinated by the natural world. Now that you’re an adult, you’ve decided to pack your bags and explore the world. You write about your adventures along the way, and become a successful author. Unexpectedly, you find love in another country. This love encourages you to settle down and have a family. You devote your later years to loving and caring for your children.’

Traits: adventurous, athletic, bookworm, loves the outdoors, hopeless romantic

LTW: illustrious author

Career/Profession: author

Generation Rules:

max a visa in at least one location

marry a local (level 2 visa required)

fully explore at least three tombs

have good relationships with all your children

(optional) get and be cured of the mummy’s curse

‘You are a kind sim who’s always been taught to follow their dreams. Despite your kindness, you aren’t the most empathetic sim, and that has caused a rift between you and those in your life. You decide you should settle down, and get married to someone you think you love. You have twins, and think this is what you should be doing. You realize that you’re not happy, and divorce your partner. After this, you see that your career and your dreams are what matters, and you put all your energy into it.’

Traits: ambitious, athletic, commitment issues, charismatic, workaholic

LTW: become an astronaut

Career/Profession: military

Generation Rules:

have twins (cheats allowed!)

have a negative relationship with your heir

get a divorce from your partner to focus on your career

master the athletic and handiness skills

‘Your parent didn’t care much for you, only for their career. This disconnect from your parents has manifested as an attitude problem and disdain for authority. You find a partner, and have a surprise child, much to your chagrin. When your toddler ages up to a child, you realize the only way to get rid of your child is to have them taken away, by killing your spouse. You go to jail after this, and you are never seen in this legacy again.’

Traits: loner, irresistible, hates children, mean spirited, rebellious

LTW: the emperor of evil

Career/Profession: criminal

Generation Rules:

get married.

have one child.

have your spouse killed. (Be creative, use your storytelling skills! This death can be through mods or in-game!)

have a negative or neutral relationship with your child.

when your child is in the child age range, move them out to live with your twin sibling

‘When you were young, you didn’t bond with your criminal parent, only your mother. She was a kind woman, and she cared for you as any mother should. After witnessing the death of one of your parents, you are sent to live with your surviving parent’s twin. You bond with them immediately. Despite them living paycheck to paycheck, you have a comfortable life. You spend your life making sure that no other criminal could hurt someone as kind as they are. You enter the Private Investigator career when you’re a young adult, and make sure your family is happy.’

Traits: perceptive, good, brave, family-oriented, friendly

LTW: pervasive private eye

Career/Profession: private investigator

Generation Rules:

have three kids when you are a young adult, and one child when you are an adult. The youngest must be the next generation’s heir!

be best friends with all of your children

be best friends with your adoptive parent

‘You spent the majority of your childhood outdoors, loving to collect rocks and playing pretend. When your older siblings move out as young adults, they leave their gaming console to you. You spend most of your teenage years playing video games and getting lost in their worlds. As a young adult, your love for games leads to you developing an interest in designing them..’

Traits: computer whiz, loves the outdoors, genius, ambitious, artistic

LTW: blog artist

Career/Profession: video game developer

Generation Rules:

attend university

master the logic skill

marry someone from a fabulously wealthy family. (this can be an in-game character or someone you’ve made yourself!)

I was tagged by @cupcakegnome and @stsciurussimblr) Thanks a lot, sweeties!

These pictures didn’t fit in the story line at all, and I was sad because the lighting in Strangerville was particularly fabulous that day. It was the ‘reconciliation’ date between Isidor and Erwin (after this incident).

First the possessed Tiberio walked by and then the possessed Santiago as well, to photobomb the date pictures. I laughed so hard but had no idea how to incorporate that into the story. 

PS: It also featured a hat-less Erwin, and I decided shortly afterwards that Erwin doesn’t remove his colander no matter what!

I didn’t cut many things from my most recent story, but I did find a new way to incorporate this scene (which is way longer than just this) to make it flow better. I’m not sure if it worked, but I like to think so :D

RIP to my Whipp save. It is a story I have tried to tell TWICE now and have lost interest in both times. It was originally a twist on a BPR and berrified. Then some things happened IRL that made me lose interest in the project. I had the idea to vanillify it and change it into just a standalone story but it never got past this scene in my drafts. The save still exists and I love the sims I have involved in it now a lot so *maybe* one day we’ll see it. But most likely not.

These one are probably some of the oldest screenshots I have. I took them when I started this blog but I really don’t remember why I did that >< I didn’t use reshade, i just badly edited ^^ I’m thankfull I can run reshade now .

I think this was one of the first “stories” I tried to make after vampires were released. I wasn’t posting on tumblr at the time but for some reason I was still taking screenshots so yeah lol. This was really fun going through all my old pictures.
