These two are so vague about their relationship, it's almost comedic. xB pretty regularly wears his ring unless he's building a big project, then he pockets it but always has it on him. Hypno never wears his ring in the same spot. He's always fidgeting with it. It's either on a chain around his neck or looped through his harness. Sometimes he wears it like a normal person.

Most hermits, if they figure it out, just go with it. The only hermit to actually directly question them was Grian. Who during a meeting noticed Hypno wearing his ring (on his finger) and made a sly comment about being married, to which Hypno chuckled and agreed with. Then the rabbit hole of questions started because he's nosy ("Are they a hermit?" & "Are they tall/short?" Those kinds of questions that were always yes or no). Which Hypno did answer truthfully! But in fae fashion, they were in a cryptic tone. No, nope and Mmm mm all had different meanings. Safe to say, Grian didn't get a confirmed answer after hours of back and forth before he gave it a rest.

Close ups and yapping:

Xisuma is a voidwalker who normally doesn't have a set form and needs to focus for a stabilized one. Which can later be concealed into a more player-like one.

Keralis is a koszmar, which is under the "eldritch beings" umbrella - they're from Poland's mythology. Similarly to voidwalkers, koszmars don't have a physical form and are more misty. However, they can seep into a player form. Though they tend to be very sensitive and will fluctuate their form if they feel too distressed. Regardless, Keralis has been able to get a pretty good handle on this.

Itty bitty baby Wels <33

He's a silver dragon that X picked up from one of his overworld supply runs, right before he left back for the end. Wels tends to follow Keralis around and help with little chores. Meanwhile Xisuma gets to wear Wels out, often practicing archery, swordmen ship or whittling. Anything to tire him out really.

Papa K just lovin' on X is all.

Biffa used to also live in the end (as he's an albino ender dragon) and he considered X like a brother. The two often wrote letters back and forth, but X never mentioned Wels. Mainly because X didn't want to run the risk of someone possibly finding Wels, so the ride Biffa went on when he first met Wels.

Every summer this bloody au gets ahold of me, so I finally did something about it.

So when Hypno's an adult he has a dream from when he was a kid. It's about this boy that he once knew very well and he's telling Hypno all about this ship.

One they are going to make and when their older sail to other exotic islands and go on this grand adventure. But while his friend is having no problem seeing this in his head and drawing it in the sand, Hypno can't visualize it in this head. This is due to him having aphantasia, which if you don't know it's when you can't see things in your mind. However, in Hypno's case he can dream.

(Ironically xB can't dream but can very vividly picture anything in his mind.)

To make a long story short, a day or two after this dream he ends up going back to his coast side town. After catching up with xB, the boy from his dream and past memories, and other old and new friends. xB somehow convinces Hypno to come sailing with him like they promised as kids. Despite his better judgment, not being able to swim and afraid of the sea, he agrees. But he'll be alright and he learns a lot while sailing!

Bonus: So funny story, I was on a call while colouring some of it and I sat for 5-8 minutes struggling over Wels' board shorts colour. When Leon made a joke about just putting the lad in Hello Kitty board shorts. So, that's what this is about 🤭

I think this year I want to do like actual character references! Kinda like where the hermits come from and how they got to Hermitcraft.

(Obviously the hermits I know better will have more detail, but it would be nice just to have)

I really wanted to write a thank you to the Hermitcraft community. Je ne sais pas what it is about you peeps, but it's something special! You've always been such a warm community to be apart of and have helped me grow in many ways.

Exactly the art side of things. I'm not a huge fan of the old fandom I was in, let's put it that way. I love how everybody draws the hermits! There's so much variety that I think is special. No two hermits look the same and I know it's really helped me grow as an artist.

When I was younger I consistently suffered from "same character syndrome" where they all basically look the same. I remember being so frustrated with it. I understand why now, though.

I love how everybody draws the hermits in different body types, with different kinds of hair, nose and eyes. I know it sounds kinda silly, but it means so much to me! Like Hypno for example, I've seen him drawn in so many different ways and I love every interpretation! Xisuma and Etho too, or really all the hermits. It just warms me. They all have different characteristics that separate them while also bringing them together.

And, thanks to hermit a day may, I had the chance to actually draw them all. Which wasn't something I'd had the chance to do yet. I loved every day doing it.

Not to mention how wholesome all the hermits are!? They try to include everyone, both hermits and viewers. I can't even put it into comprehendible words how much that means to me.

I guess, I couldn't be more thankful for the peeps I've met too, always so sweet <3

Please pardon this, I'm just a wee bit frustrated right now. I've been wanting to work on Deep sea haze but can't because of my bleeding stylus stopped working.

Like I was about 80% done with the "prologue" and then it broke. I'm frustrated because this was like a month or so ago, a few days after I had made the sketch board. And my fear is it wouldn't get fixed till August 🎉 [eye is twitching]

The good in it though is I've had lots of time for chapter one and two, which are writing bits. It's also given me time to work on other things. So, I guess long story short, I'm excited to keep working on Deep sea haze but will have to diverge for a wee bit.
