I’m ugly but it’s exotic

I’ve given up on being happy. I’d just like to feel a little less miserable.

I’m a ray of sunshine, look at me 🎶

Have you ever seen those girls that are like leaves in the fall? The ones that dance in the rain rather than drown in the storm?

And I wonder how they smile like that, sticky sweet, while all my mouth is ever good for is whiskey and being on my knees.

Their skin is flawless like rainbow glass, while my scars get stares and questions of,

“What’s wrong with her?”

And I’ll never be the girl tying cherries with her tongue, whose life chimes like a bell and shines in the sun,

But oh, how I wish to be the color changing leaves, with skin of rainbow and a smile so sticky sweet.
