Paki Pakania
A type of Varia Maria found growing just off the coast of the northern tip of Crescent Minoria. It is theorized the plant used to grow deep in the heart of the continent, but it has only been spotted by the northern tip in recent years as far as sightings on the mainland go, as well as Fe'ari Island according to a handful of reports.
A continent's Varia Maria is often considered its heart. This is why scholars in earlier years insisted that the Paki Pakania must be somewhere in central Crescent Minoria, and not on some nondescript island near the northern hook. However, the Paki Pakania lacks many of the characteristics of a full Crescent Minoria plant, such as having a glass-like appearance and texture. While still firm towards the base of the plant, the tips have more of a supple, grainy feel than is typical of Crescent Minoria flora. For this reason, the location it was found in lines up fairly well with how much it is influenced by the continent. That said, it does bear some resemblance to the Kuana Plania, which can be found in central Crescent Minoria. It is theorized that they are related, but evidence shows they are not very closely related despite their apparent resemblance. Due to their resemblance, it is theorized that Kuana Planias might be a Varia Maria, but they are much too big to be considered, and lack any distinct feature that would tie it in with any Varia Maria. Similarly, the Paki Pakania is also thought to be related to the Flarowan Pikana, but it lacks the glowing qualities of either other bulbflower.
The bracts of the Paki Pakania can be pressed to produce a vibrant purple dye. Though their slightly fuzzy texture makes them not great for eating, they seem to have quite a possibility for application in the world of paints and dyes. The flower inside has smooth, red petals that can also be used to produce dye. While they don't have the fuzzy texture of the bracts, they similarly do not taste like much, but they could be used as a garnish on dishes or served with tea for a little pizzazz.
