This work is inspired by @bun-o-ween ‘s fic Kiss & Cry because I adore it so far and figure skater Ciel warms my heart.
I watched Yuri! on Ice when it came out a few years ago and while I love watching it, I wasn’t that interested in ice-skating. After reading Bun’s fic I kinda remembered ice-skating exists and started watching some YouTube videos about it, including all of Yuzuru Hanyu’s performances who I instantly fell in love with. The championships being cancelled was as disappointing to me as it was for every other fan so, to lift my (and hopefully some others’) spirits, I decided to draw my two favourite things: Ciel and ice-skating.
The outfit Ciel is wearing in this is a combination of one of Hanyu’s outfits and the costume Ciel wears in the circus ark. I used this as a reference.
Well, long story short: I’ve watched about ~60 hours worth of ice-skating performances and explanations of every jump and spin there is to learn more about the sport I now so obsess over. All thanks to your lovely fic, @bun-o-ween
