I love the face Pearl makes when Pink shows her the decoy shards bc to gems that's kind of like a handful of dismembered body parts
Me too, it’s a great expression
It’s kinda too bad they don’t show us Pearl’s face when Pink Diamond just swallows the realistic looking fake Gem corpse
Sorry if you are tired of hearing about this but it's so cool that you worked on the Emoji Movie! I think it's pretty cute despite the sort of silly concept and I liked a lot of the little details like how the different characters moved and a lot of the fun stuff you could see in the city when it panned over it. It looked like it was pretty fun project to work on!
Thanks! It was pretty neat. That shot panning over the city was seriously intense! All the buildings were modeled individually, and all of the characters and vehicles were animated too!
We had a good stream :D Thank yall for coming~
bunnyblob replied to your photoset: anyone else thinking about crabs. not krabs i mean...
I love your oc’s (Original Crabs) the best tbh
AW! i appreciate it. but all crabs are very good crabs.
bunnyblob: DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER an old cartoon christmas...
I found a show called Thugaboo with that plot! It’s apparently two separate specials but likely aired together, the first one has them selling shoes, the second one is the Christmas one
ohhhhh my god
hhwhw h hwhh wh
THIS IS A LOT...
A while back my little sister had some of her friends over and they had been wanting to play DnD so I told her I'd help them get it all set up and stuff and DM for them, but they finally decided they wanted to play at like 2am without giving me time to prep and I ended up scrambling around drawing up character sheets for them and trying to pull together a sort of demo version of an unfinished campaign I'd been working on, I had to simplify the rules and we only went for a couple of hours (1)
(2) but it was pretty fun either way! One issue though is that they had a bit of trouble getting into character, since you seem like a pretty great DM do you have any tips for how I could help them get into it? And maybe any DM tips you have in general if it's not any trouble
aw man first off, kudos to you for doing something so impromptu! DMing is hard when you don’t have at least a little time to get things ready, haha. but, doing things on the fly can force you to be pretty creative too, hehe
umm as far helping to encourage roleplay, first I’ll say that it’s gonna take a bit of time for the players to REALLY start to get a feeling for their characters. when you start off with a new character, even if you have personality traits and backstories n stuff for them, they’re still gonna feel kinda flat. especially if you don’t have experience creating/writing/RPing with original characters, it can be hard to know how to develop one! it’ll come with time though!
what I like to do is allow for small character moments in-between events. so, like, don’t have your campaign always move super swiftly from one point to another.
you: yall beat the goblin, then head down the ravine, do you look around the corner?
player: i look around the corner
you: blah blah explaining more, setting up a battle or something, etc.
instead, after you say, beat the goblin, ask the characters “what do you want to do now?” or maybe even something more specific but interesting like “do any of you search the goblin?” and see who bites. people who are trying to play more mischievous or even neutral/evil leaning characters will probably like the chance to demonstrate that by looting the corpse. maybe those who are trying to roleplay someone more independent or bossy or leadership-oriented will take the chance to talk about what they know and begin working on a plan for later on...
another thing would be to let small moments play out, like, if someone makes a joke and the rest of the party starts running with it. stuff like that can definitely go on for a little longer than you hope, but if they’re having fun, that’s the most important thing! and especially if they’re doing it in-character, or having some of it happen in-character, it’s a great way for them to start exploring things like team dynamic and their character’s sense of humor and whatnot.
also, of course, encouraging character voices helps, if only bc it makes the difference between in-character and ooc chatter more distinctive. they don’t have to be awesome voices - just different enough so they can slide into it when they want/need to.
oh! and you can always use Inspiration Points as a way to encourage thoughtful, in-character behavior! Like of someone does something that wasn’t entirely suited for a plan, or maybe even more dangerous than another option, but it was definitely something their character would go for (stealing something, taking on a tough-looking enemy head on rather than use stealth, etc...)
so, ah, those are some suggestions of mine! i wish you luck and i hope yall have a great time playing!!
You feel like a sort of chill comforting type of character, like easy going and maybe sort of confident or in charge in like a hands off way?
awww nice
