You know what

You’re all getting Albedo rambles today because

I’m just so proud of him.

Albedo went from a closed off, cold, lonely person when we first met him, to this bright source of warmth he is now.

He even admits in one of his events that Dragonspine is a cold, lonely place. He put himself there because I believe he was still grieving his master leaving him, and because he felt like he was a monster. But I truly think his mindset is changing after that event with everyone.

I really saw him open up to not just us, but everyone else too. And I think we all saw just how kind hearted he really was. I wish there was an option to tell him how monsters can’t be as kind as him. Yes, he isn’t human (and he obviously has some sort of complex about it because of the things he says) but my boy is no monster, and I think at the end of the event, he perhaps realised that.

I truly believe that was Albedo at the end, by the way. Why do you think the traveler, or us, was so chill with what he did? We can tell when it’s not Albedo, even when his back was turned from us in the beginning - so we could definitely tell when he’s right in front of us. He’s playing a prank on us and being playful because now he’s so comfortable with us. He’s ‘coming out of his shell’, if you will. And what he said was really telling, about his pockets being full. He’s satisfied with life, and has no need to ask why anymore. He’s happy. And I don’t think he killed his imposter - I think he’s either still living on the mountain, which is why maybe Albedo hasn’t removed himself from it - or he went with that kid as his dad and just decided to live a normal life. I just really think with how Albedo could emphasise with his situation, he wouldn’t kill him after that. He even said he’d do the same if the roles were reversed !!

Moving on from his event - how about we talk about how much he changed when we last saw him?

Was it just me, or did Albedo seem a lot more willing to be social? He even helped Kazuha with his family crisis, when he wasn’t exactly needed. He could’ve just carried on trying to find inspiration, but I think he helped out with everything because he genuinely cares. He’s so sweet, no one ever realises how selfless he really is if someone needs him. I don’t even think he noticed that he was like this until everything went down.

I think when he cooked for people, and realised how much he actually liked other people’s company, something must’ve snapped (but in a good way). Because since then, I’ve been seeing him smile more and more in official art when before it was extremely rare to see one on him. I think even his little emoji’s only had like one or two. Sure, he had his smug little bastard smirk, but an actual smile? It wasn’t something we often saw.

Now I see it all the time and it makes me so happy. He’s really grown as a character, and he’s still continuing to grow, but I think his smile is the evidence I need to know it’s going in the right direction. I also think Klee might bring out the best in him too, there’s probably a big brother Albedo we haven’t quite seen yet and maybe it’ll happen in the upcoming event. (That’s not a spoiler, he seems to have one every winter which is what I’m talking about).

I don’t think his character journey has ended, for from it, and I’m really looking forward to seeing him again in an event (even though people have dubbed him the event archon lmfao) I want to see him smile more and be happy. Maybe come off that damn mountain so he can be truly happy with everyone, but maybe he’s not ready for that just quite yet. He’s no extrovert, so maybe in some way he loves the mountain for that - but I can see he would really like someone there with him sometimes. I hope he doesn’t punish himself with no company because he feels like he deserves it - please see how much people care for you baby ):

Btw side not but kazubedo has great potential and I will not shut up about it, soft boys in love. They’re both the chillest characters in the game, they would be perfect for each other. Albedo obviously loves exploring, so ofc he wouldn’t mind if his rogue prince dragged him around everywhere. Ugh I’d talk about it more but I don’t think anyone likes hearing about ships much

If you read through this all, well thank you but are you okay after that much incoherent rambling? It probably didn’t make sense, I just wanted to go on about how I’m proud of my boy for coming so far.

these are just a few tidbits mainly for myself to properly characterise gorou so I know how to write about him, I’ll be adding more as I go along. Spoilers for Gorous hang out, sorry!

Very expressive with his ears! Flops down when he’s embarrassed or upset, twitches subconsciously while he’s lost in thought. Sensitive perhaps? One flops to the side when he’s embarrassed

Not confident with teasing and does not know how to handle it, despite trying to be authoritative. Example “I’m the general of Watatsumi island! I wouldn’t do such a thing.”

Determined and enthusiastic!

Outside of the battle field, he is not all that confident, especially with socialising

Sweet tooth

Is turning out to be quite naive and an optimist. Example “Maybe a slice of cake costing 100,000 is better than a regular slice!”

Keen sense of smell

When trust is built its hard to break with Gorou.

A little insecure about how ‘cute’ and ‘small’ he is, as he is a general and he sees himself as someone who should be more intimidating

🪴 what’s your favorite quest?

Hmmmm, it’s a tie between the Sumeru quest that just happened because oh my god?? They really stepped up their game (not surprised after Inazuma-) and the Albedo 2.3 event quest. Both of those are really, really good but unfortunately 2.3 was limited which sucks ): I love Scara n Albedo so both of these were a win for me, and I really liked that Nahida actually gave us helpful information !!

🌾 what’s your favorite character trailer?

They’re all so good aaah- i might be kind of basic for this one, but I really liked Raiden’s- even though I’m not a big fan of her personally, that trailer was magnificent, both the animated one and the ‘showcase’. But Albedo’s also has a soft spot for me, specifically the animated piece (HE LOOKS SO GOOD AND HIS HAIR LOOKS SO FLUFFY !!) where he’s painting? Good stuff :,) honourable mentions would be Cyno and Kazuha !!

But ‘wanderer’ is someone I’m saving up for, I’m guaranteed, just need to get wishes now and he’s all mine hehehehe (y’know, grinding for him isn’t that bad, gives me something to do !! I’m free from mushroom hell so the rest is nice)

Other than him, hm… Venti and Nahida for their next reruns, bc as much as I like Nahida’s play style, I’m not wasting that guaranteed on anyone but Scara :)

And maybe Alhaitham? Although I’ve never been a huge fan of playing/using the taller male characters other than Itto. Childe too, if I had him;;;

Chongyun; You probably thought you would get Xiao or Shenhe. Even though you're young, you feel like you have decades of weight upon your shoulders. You tend to focus on it, and sometimes it consumes you, but you need to know that your pain is only a small, small part of you. Most of the time, you're just adorable. Yes, I don't care if you don't think so. You're precious. You're one of the kindest people out there, and a lot of people tend to see you as innocent if they don't know you. You feel incompetent a lot of the time, but you aren't. The people in your life all appreciate you, even if you don't see it. I’m doing quite well today, I recently got back into writing after a long hiatus so I’m doing better than I was before that, how are you? 💞💞

💫what is your favorite kind of comment/feedback?

When someone tells me that I’m a great writer, or something similar along those lines. I always doubt myself and think that I’m actually not good at what I do, so hearing that kind of reassurance is always such a boost for my confidence !! But another type is when people said that my words meant something to them, like ‘I’m crying’ or ‘this really hit hard’, they’re also some of my favourites <33

Ah… This one’s going to be difficult… Um, I think I get my characterisation really well most of the time, and I can really visualise them characters I’m writing for doing or saying the things I make them do/say in my pieces. Yeah. I can confidently say I do characterisation pretty well !!

💎why is writing important to you?

Writing is important to me because growing up, it was the one thing I was praised for over and over again, something I genuinely believed I had a talent for. Over the years though, I’ve discovered it’s a perfect way for me to express my emotions that I simply can’t do otherwise. I have many ideas and many thoughts that don’t come out unless I write them down, and I also just like using the advanced vocabulary I have to make beautiful sentences, weaving together words to create a story is cathartic and something I’m very passionate about. I write when I feel strong emotions, it’s how I give myself comfort when no one else but my imagination is there for me. And if I can help someone else feel better with my stories, then that’s a plus too <33

✨) hm… well having a wonderful friend wanting to constantly read all of your old works and rb them makes this question a little difficult to answer ehe… uhm, but I would say maybe the xiao cat fic I did? It really didn’t get much attention, and the xiao piece I did before that also really didn’t do well. (I’ll link them both below) so probably those. It upset me quite a bit because I thought they were pretty good but it seems no one really shared my opinion

💘) yes, many of my old works from the beginning of my time here, especially ‘that’s a little fishy’. I feel like my writing has improved significantly over the time I’ve spent on tumblr and I think that specific one deserves a rework because the prompt was so interesting to me !!

💫) ‘you’re such a talented writer’ or ‘wow your writing is top tier’ are some of my favourites due to the fact that I doubt myself a lot if I’m even good at what I do- so having some reassurance that I’m actually talented in some way, that some people can see worth in my words, that really means something to me <33

💋) due to my horrific attention span these days, I really don’t read all too much anymore and if I do, it’s usually on ao3. however, in the past, I’ve always commented about how the piece makes me feel and the events that happened that stuck out to me. Ooooh, or phrases they used that sound particularly pretty to me, I always love complementing on their use descriptions <33

🕯) this one’s rather difficult, but I suppose, go forward with the thought of not everyone is nice in this space, but not everyone is mean either. It’s a mixture of many different people all with a shared interest, and you’ll find someone to connect with over it at some point. And I think uplifting one another, commenting and sharing each other’s works, is really what glues the community together. It creates connections, helps the author feel good about themselves and their talent, overall it’s a very positive experience. I don’t have a lot of moots but the ones that I do make this experience far more pleasant, and communicating with others who share the same interests as you is precious :,). About anxiety, pace yourself and realise that this is not a race, it’s a marathon. You don’t have to push yourself to deal with negativity or rush to get content out. If it’s stressing you out, take a break or slow yourself down. You might find that’s exactly what you need sometimes !!

scara x bunny: he will make you take care of yourself, whether you like it or not; you’re up too late, he’s dragging you to bed and cuddling you to sleep; you didn’t have breakfast? scara is cooking you the best mean you’ve ever tasted. he also leaves his hoodies and t-shirts hanging around for you to wear them (then complains you steal his clothes while he has a v obvious blush all over his cheeks). he is a gremlin but he is your gremlin and he loves you as much as you love him!

albedo x bunny: albedo always lets you play w his hair, he knows it calms you so much after long days and he loves how you pet his hair. he loves painting you too, no matter the landscape or theme of his art, albedo always likes to include something that reminds him of you, if he can’t include your whole drawing, it’s subtle, only something you and him are able to recognize and that makes it all the more special <3

he really is my gremlin <33 i struggle sm with going to bed early or taking care of myself in general so having him take care of that is very nice to think about /)////(\ also him cooking? can u imagine him having one of those flowery aprons or those kiss the cook ones? like we got it for a joke but he actually uses it and he has that ultra deadpan look on his face and when I burst out in giggles he just asks ‘…what?’ bc he’s clueless. I would definitely wear his hoodie and imagine his arms around me <33 when I tell him this I can imagine him scoffing and calling me stupid before pulling me into his arms and cuddling me as much as I want <33

ugh Albedo knowing all my weaknesses and using them against me (bc playing with my hair will make me melt) mutual playing with each other’s hair? yesss <33 him adding red into each painting bc it’s the colour of my hair /).(\ don’t look at me I’m on the floor crying or or or little marks or tattoos with have on our wrists with our own special meaning and he sometimes puts it at the end of his signature when he finishes his paintings !! ugh I just want to play with his hair and watch him melt against me when I do that just as he does with me (,:

Well, i think i ship you with Kazuha. Im not entirely sure why but for me it seems like both of you would complement each other personality wise nicely.

Both of you can be a bit miscevious from time to time and you can support each other when one of you going through tough moments of life.

But for the most part, pretty accurate !! I would say we are both a little mischievous and playful, but equally soft and understanding. And honestly, a hug from Kazuha might be all I need if my day isn’t going the best. Honestly, he looks like he gives the best hugs
