Irv's Burgers on Santa Monica Blvd was a great outdoor burger stand that endured for decades. Lenny Bruce, John Cassavetes and Linda Ronstadt were among the names frequently associated with it.
When the landlord jacked up the rent 10 years ago, the owner was out of luck. She sold the name to a new investor who turned it into a new franchise - and also turned it into shit.
