Crushing Sands 4-11 Nov

"You lie!" they shrieked.

"How could we know where she is?" I asked. "You've heard everything we've said since we've got here. Did we once say something about going somewhere?"

"You're planned this," the strange cloaked figures accused. "You've had this all planned out before you arrived."

I almost laughed. "Planned it? How could we plan it? We didn't even know you would be here."

"We will listen to your lies no more! We will not allow you to erase us from existence! We must be for all eternity!"

The sands under our feet began rise up. It was like some reverse downpour. The air was filling quickly with grains of sand. It became hard to see, to breathe. Tam grabbed me. "Stay close," they said as they activated their personal force field.

It was tight in there, the two of us. The force field was clearly built to only protect there user. But I was much more concerned about the claustrophobia. With the sand filling a up all around us, it was beginning to feel like we had been buried alive. "How long can you hold this?"

"Against sand?" Tam laughed. "My shield will stand for millenia against such a weak..." But they stopped talking as their forcefield began to light up. The sand was pressing against the field, squeezing it.

"We ok?" I asked.

"Yes. Everything is green." After a second 's thought, Tam then added, "Though thinking about exit strategy might not be the worst way to spend our time."

"Gotcha. What are our options?" I asked as I saw the forcefield sizzle from pressure.

"Wait here until we die..."

"Or...?"

"Or do something else."

"Such as?"

"Lower the field and die?"

"What about Kink? What's the chances she comes back for us?"

Auch wenn ich eher in anderen Richtungen des Metal meine Favoriten habe, muss ich zugeben, dass mir Dryed, im vergleich zu ähnlichen Bands in diesem Genre, tatsächlich gefallen. Sie erinnern mich schwach an Linkin Park, wobei wie bereits gesagt, ich diese Sorte Metal kaum höre und mich daher in einem Vergleich eher schwer tue. Jedenfalls ist die Band für all jene zu empfehlen die gerne Scream und classic Vocal in kombination Mögen.

  Biography:

 ''Formed in 2007 as an incipient idea in the mind of John Fasoulakis (ex-Odes of Ecstacy) it was not until October of 2009 that the band was completed. John met Panos Mademlis (Dirt Spawn Disease) through myspace and the duet was fast at work developing their music which was given a new depth with the addition of Panos. 

Two months later, in November of 2009 John and Panos had already finished the first song ''Buried Under'' which was also the band's first music video, From such early stages DRYED set the bar higher and higher as they went straight into shooting  their second music video for the song 'Coma'.  Currently the band is in the own studio re-recorded mixing and mastering their first full lenght album with producer John Fasoulakis , improving recorded material and writing new music.''

buried under || anna & jeremy

It was weird being back. Actually listening to all the sounds going on around the Grill and able to add up to it. Even more weird when the latest disappearance was Esther's way to remind her that she wasn't there to make friends. It didn't matter what she wanted, that had never been part of the deal. Not that she even had any idea of what she wanted. She was like that since coming back. She wanted a life. But what was that life to encompass now? She had spent 145 years with the sole goal to rescue her mother. All those years too afraid to make any kind of connection to someone who wasn't her. Afraid that it would just end up the same. Too afraid to care for someone who'd disappear and leave her lost in the night. And then Jeremy had come and calmly destroyed all the careful barriers she had put up. Once, she had called him her weakness and it was pathetic how it held. It didn't matter that she was over him, it didn't matter that she had to be over him. He was still her weakness. Would always be it. What do you do when you find someone like that? Well, you avoid them at all costs cause you can't give someone that sort of hold on you if you want to survive. And hell, did she want to survive. 

But that was also way she couldn't avoid Jeremy. Survival. The other side of that coin. She had been out of Mystic Falls for long enough. She had lost track of people and how to get things done. Actually, her former way of getting things done would just take her further away from her goal. Normally, she'd get one or two guys turned and have them do the dirty work. But she needed a witch and no one can be a vampire and channel that kind of power. Besides, she was over that. Turn the page, new Anna, and there are better ways to get things done. Jeremy was that. And he was the only person in that whole town in whom she trusted. Sure, she cared about some of them but that wasn't trust. Trust was Jeremy. She would trust him till the end of the world. Because he had found out who she was and had still loved her. He had loved her for her and made her turn that damned humanity switch on.

Finally his shift was over and could come over, talk, just that. Ok, she had to forget about all of this history. He had moved on, she wasn't about to be the creepy ex who couldn't do the same. He was a part of her life, she couldn't cut that out. But she could now keep him straight to the Esther subject. They'd just have a planning talk so she could have herself caught up on all that had went on while she had been out. Know if Sadie was still the best bet for the witch to use, know if there was a chance he had any more clues about where the coffin was and get Esther out so she could stop the nonsense with Klaus having Stefan on that stupid state. Yes, just that. "Okay, first, is Sadie still a go?" She should've just let him reply but the little hints of guilt for having to do this to him, her own wish not to linger too much around the person who kept her humanity on. "I'm sorry. We really need to get this over with so I can give you your life back. I have mentioned how not fair it is that I'm dragging you into my problems again, right?"
