I am seeing it all again. Fires every where and more dead and burnt children all under 18 and above 10 . Except this time they were not out protesting. They were in school when an out of date aircraft fell on them. The pilot stayed in till the end to try and steer it away. He died trying to minimise the casulties. Mean while his superiors bought an out of date faulty aircraft to save on money.
They tested it on residential and highly populated civil area instead of their own military grounds.
I don't how much more i can watch. If anyone wants to know more look up "Plane falls on Milestone school and colledge uttara dhaka 21 july 2025."
Reality changes constantly. We can accept it or resist the whole way. My reality keeps bouncing between denial, sadness and anger. Many things happened last month. Not only did I lose a family friend, in a very tragic way; my grandma was in horrible accident. I mean this accident SHOULD have killed her but it didn’t. Thank heavens, she’s alive.
However, this accident has marked her forever. Her skin is burned from that accident. 2nd degree deep burns and PTSD that is slowly creeping in. She survived a gas tank explosion. But her body and mind took the huge brunt of it. While she’s had many surgeries and has been a good hospital in Guatemala, for about month now, things have changed exponentially.
She will be released soon and the hard work is about to come. My family and I have been dealing has best as we can but this has been heavy. Heavier than you could ever imagine.
So I want to share her gofundme and just ask that people share. If you want to donate, I would be grateful forever. But shares and visibility helps equally. These toughs times have been hitting hard. Real hard on people I love most in this world. So a reminder that everyone is fighting a hidden battle. Be kind. Be mindful. And be empathetic to people who are struggling. You don’t know the battles they fought or are still fighting.
How should live action media handle stuff like burn scars? I was thinking about this book The Candymakers where a main character has burn scars on his arms and face from a very plot relevant event; the scars itch and make him drop things, and his arc involves realizing ppl treat him differently b/c of how he looks. If someone made a TV show or something out of that, should they look for someone with those specific scars or just use makeup?
So I actually have quite a bit of scarring myself because of cystic acne and selfharming and my aunt suffered burns on like 50% of her body as a kid in the 70s. Honestly I think we really need to see more burn victims in media. Like I follow amputees and people with acne scarring like mine on youtube that can cover it up you know? But I rarely see people with burn scars on social media. And like my aunt is pretty she's always been pretty to me but I've never seen burn victims in magazines or even tiktok or insta.
Tbh I think an effort should be made to include more burn victims in media and we shouldn't rely so much on makeup and visual fx. Also you don't have to have the same burn pattern you could definitely adjust the burn pattern to an existing person.
