Jess shook her head with a smile and kissed her husband’s palm. “Half and half sounds good.” She was smart and had graduated from Stanford, always on the Dean’s list, but that didn’t mean she liked to brag or agree to compliments. Jess didn’t like huge egos on other people and would never become a narcissistic, snobby, egotistical bitch like some of her colleagues. “Yeah, yeah. Maybe every once in a while I’ll just say thank you to your fangirling.” She teased, pressing a gentle kiss to his chin.  Jess then turned her attention to their daughter and smiled. “I hope so… I don’t want to miss anything big.”

"A lawyer? That would be great to have in the family. It’ll be interesting to see what her passions are." She smiled, holding Shelly close to her. "I wouldn’t mind having more babies to play with. Anna and Dean would both make excellent parents." Jess sat down with Michelle in her arms, smirking as her husband continued to watch them. "Trying to sneak a peek? I promise you can see them later." She teased jokingly as she unbuttoned the top buttons on her shirt. If Michelle was trying to feed on her father, Jess knew it was only a matter of time before the crying began so she wasn’t going to wait for too long before she fed her.

"They grow so much for the first three years… We won’t be able to keep you in any of your clothes long, will we?" She smiled, cooing as she ran her fingers on Michelle’s stomach, but the baby only looked impatient and unamused. "Tough crowd." She laughed and shook her head as she began to feed Shelly.

Ruby smiled down at his wife and daughter, finding Jess's lips soft on his palm. "As long as she is happy with her path in life," he said, knowing genetically Shelly would most likely be brilliant, but that didn't mean she had to become a rocket scientist or anything like that. Along with that, he didn't like the idea of Shelly being around egotistical snobs, for it could cause her to not be happy in her career. "I'd prefer you simply believe me when I express how absolutely incredible you are. I'm fairly sure even statistically you would be considered far above average." Ruby insisted. "Granted, your humility is part of your endless charm," the brunette winked at Jess.

Ruby laughed, stroking Shelly's soft hair. "Well, hopefully we won't need a lawyer for any reason. I do hope she finds something that makes her happy, that she can turn into a career if it so pleases her," he agreed. Talking of Anna and Dean made Ruby simply shaking his head. "I'm surprised they haven't started trying yet, with how Anna is around Shelly and how she's maternal like you are," Ruby noted, "and Dean has that look of wanting to steal Shelly away whenever seeing her. He's lying if he ever says he doesn't want the whole picket fence, apple pie life." Ruby had a playful look in his eyes as soon as Jess teased him for trying to sneak a peek. "I plan on holding you to that promise," he winked at Jess, giving Shelly goofy looks to distract her while Jess prepared to feed the little girl. Michelle had been on the verge of tears before giggling at the faces, reaching for Ruby's face. "She's so precious, I don't think I'll ever be able to say no if she asks for something," he chuckled.

"It's astonishing. You weren't the only one reading What To Expect When You're Expecting. If Anna and Dean do get around to having kids, we can give them the clothing Shelly outgrows," Ruby suggested, as to not let the clothing go to waste with Shelly growing out of them practically weekly. Michelle returned to being unhappy, which made Ruby anxious. He wasn't the best with crying when he knew he couldn't help.

Jess sighed. “Yeah, you’re right. I’m not small and cute like you are.” She snuggled her face into Ruby’s shoulder. The blonde was mostly joking, but she secretly had been self-conscious about her size since her last growth spurt in high school. She had been taller than a majority of guys in her school and they didn’t typically like taller women. Being cute and tiny and able to be scooped up by a man had been secret desires of hers. Then along came Sam the literal giant. Looking at Ruby, she smiled more with a blush. “Yeah? I’ll keep that in mind then.”

"You have been, and you’ve been doing well." Jess laughed a bit. She hadn’t been too keen on trusting a demon at the beginning of whatever she and Ruby had, but Ruby had proved reliable and had helped Jess get on her feet comfortably. Jess knew how to kill other supernaturals and she had someone that had her back in case anyone saw her as an opportunity to use against Sam. "You can say that again."

She frowned then and ran her fingertips over Ruby’s arm gently. “It’s what people like you do when you love someone.” Jess knew that there were people out there that wouldn’t sacrifice themselves for anyone else, even if they cared about that person. “I couldn’t tell you how many hours I spent begging my parents to have another kid. I’m sure it’s not all good, but not having siblings was pretty lonely, especially when I didn’t have many friends to have over.”

Ruby moved away a tad, cocking an eyebrow and looking at Jess. "Being small isn't always a benefit. Even to cuddle you I have to climb you like a tree! Also, you are cute as well. Granted, being an adult and deemed cute doesn't seem to mesh well," she added in a murmur. Ruby was equally self conscious, not thrilled by how short she was. At times, her neck ached from having to look up all the time, but as a demon it was hardly a bother compared to being stabbed. The jokes about being "perfect blowjob height" didn't help, but she showed any who said that, that she wasn't one to accept such comments being made. The female gave a cheeky smile, "good~"

"Why thank you, I appreciate it," Ruby beamed, her brown eyes remaining non-demonic for longer than usual. She was fully aware of the fact that Jess must have had a good deal of inner conflict over trusting her. It wasn't as if it was easy for Ruby to trust someone who could easily gank her.

Ruby sighed, closing her eyes, "there is a fine line between bliss and agony when one loves another, either in a platonic manner or romantically." Ruby had tried avoiding the caring about others issue once she had become a demon, but her damned humanity hadn't been destroyed. Alistair's torturing skills were unmatched, save Dean Winchester's perhaps, but Ruby had only suffered at the hand of one of them. "Really? I wonder why they decided against it," she confessed, finding it curious. "It's also difficult when your friends start dropping like flies," Ruby muttered, recalling the atrocious, horrific plague that had ravaged Europe.

Learning Curve || Azrael/Jess

     Letting Jess stay in the apartment had definitely been a good move. While Azrael wasn't always there, it was nice to come back and have some company in the mean time, someone the angel could talk to without having to really hide who she was. Sure, there was still some stuff Jess didn't know about Az, like her real name, and some of her background, but the woman had definitely learned a lot about the angel in the mean time. And vice versa, at least as far as habits and personality went.

     Regardless, Azrael had been gone for about a month or two, off trying to deal with the whole Heaven situation that was still in turmoil. From the shadows of course, she didn't like drawing a lot of attention to herself. But she was tired, backed up on work, and had caught wind of a few monster cases that Jess might have been interested in.

     Az suddenly vanished from her perch in a tree somewhere in Central Park, appearing back in the apartment. “Jess? You around?” she called, dusting her coat of dry leaves and dust before throwing it onto the couch. “Well if you are, sorry about not keeping in contact that well. I got caught up with some angel business,” Azrael continued with a slightly raised voice as she looked around.

   The term 'walk-in' wasn't supposed to be taken literally. Are appointments required? No. But people were still expected to wait - in the waiting room - until they were called.

   That rarely went as planned.

   As Trinity entered her office, she was only semi-surprised to see a young woman already waiting. It certainly wasn't the first time it had happened, and probably wouldn't be the last, either.

   She walked past the woman, placing a box in the corner of the room before taking a seat and offering a warm smile.
