I literally can't believe someone who died almost 200 years ago has such an impact on my life. I know I'm never alone when I remember he's up there watching me. You will never be the villain in my history. I'm just like you. Please rest in peace.

Politics in the United States have always been divisive to some extent. The Federalists and the group that came from the Anti-Federalists - Democratic-Republicans, Jeffersonians, Burrites, what have you, fought brutally. They wrote horrible comments in the papers and held nothing back (more on that later). Despite this, they are still forced to work together. Burr joined this fray (though, however, he had been a part of it before in the New York Assembly previously) with every intent of making it to the top. Whatever his beliefs, and he did keep them close and did not always write them down or share them, he knew he wanted a say in the new government.

So pissed rn. Everyone only remembers Aaron Burr for shooting Hamilton (who totally had it coming). Why can't we talk about how much he loved his daughter? Or his feminist ideals? Instead everyone talks about the duel or his supposed plan to conquer Mexico (WHICH WAS NEVER EVEN CONFIRMED IT WAS A CONSPIRACY THEORY) bc they just wanna keep painting him as a villain and ignore the fact that he was a very honorable person. He paid for the education of various children and wrote them into his will as his own; he let a DYING mother and child into his home and gave them food despite being total strangers to him; he believed women should have the same education as men, personally oversaw his daughter's education, and she ended up becoming the most educated woman of her time. He outlived his parents, sister, wife, multiple children, his GRANDSON, and his daughter whom he loved more than ANYTHING. So before you judge him based on ONE mistake he made in his lifetime, do some research.

I'm literally so done with the hamilton musical subreddit. apparently someone thought it would be funny to drive ALL THE WAY to Aaron Burr's grave just to put a picture of lin there (I love lin but whoever did it specifically said they did it to get hamiltons "revenge" like you know lin isn't hamilton right??!! You know defacing a grave is a sh*tty thing to do right?!??!)
