For weeks she had been struggling to think of what to give Lady Maria. True she had only been with them her for a few months, but she had never really interacted with her before. She had only been able to see her when she was with Prince Leo or whenever Nora told her of her time with Clara, Maria’s daughter.
She worried her anxiety would take over if she spoke to her again; observation would be the route to go.
From what she had seen (and from who she asked), Maria’s interests seemed to be tied to decadent things like clothes, jewelry, flowers and anything of the sort.
It seemed straightforward at first, but upon gathering further information she saw that she had liked high quality or handmade things. Even with the gold she had saved up in her time as messenger she wasn't sure she could afford even the smallest of items she would be interested in.
Thus, her handmade item: her sketch.
It took another week trying to figure out what to draw for Maria...until inspiration struck while she was busy sending out messages.

The smile on Maria’s face calmed Claire a bit....but it was the question given that spurred her on.
“I was...inspired by your bond with...Prince Leo, ma’m. Whenever I have...seen you two together...whether at the camp...or Krakenberg’s halls...you both looked happy....being at each others side. Thus...the book itself...represents him...and the flower...represents you. ...The flower made of pages...represents your love...and how it has...stood strong, even as...t-time has passed.”
