#i tried drawing a portrait of myself and shaded it and all that shit #and i used pens and colored pencils #so it took a considerable amount of time to get all the colors right #and my sister wants me to draw one of her now #but two things #one is that I'm still practicing so i don't know how confident i feel drawing other people #and the second is that even if i do try #it will take a lot of time to get the details right alone and the shading on top of that #so probably 3 hours at least?#which i could have spent working or studying #and it will sure be a pain in the ass for my arthritis #so of course I'm going to charge a good amount of money for all that #but my point is #that a lot of time and effort and circumstances go into producing art #so for fuck's sake don't be offended and simple minded when someone changes for a commission #even if you're a friend or family member #for fucks sake how do people still not get this
