One thing that did annoy me in Chaos Theory is their use of the words "never" and "first" with a lot of the lore.

I always find those to be limiting, especially in a vast, expanded universe. As soon as you use those words, you ax a lot of story potential.

Sometimes, it's fine. Secrets can be kept. But there wasn't really any reason for them to establish "No one has cloned a feathered dinosaur in the world, ever". Especially when there are four different species running around on that very day.

Obviously, "Darius just hasn't kept up on Biosyn's news releases" might be a thing, but that's a flimsy excuse.

Getting into more opinion below the cut about Elizabeth Lafayette, aka good ol' Cap'n Lizzie. This is solely my opinion, but y'all are free to reply if you wanna.

So Grizz recently mentioned once again in his discord server that Lizzie was bi/lesbian (we been knew but love the confirmation), and he also said on Twitter that we're gonna love her backstory. A few people on Twitter are thinking that she was romantic with Ava, and...I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with that, especially if Grizz and Condi make pistolwhip canon because like,,,Lizzie was attracted to both Ava and her little sister and was potentially romantically involved with them both? It feels just...weird to me. I don't even like hearing stories of people who dated their siblings exes because it always feels wrong to me.

Am I weird for thinking that? We don't really know how much older Ava was than Jay, and Grizz has said Lizzie is around Jay's age (Jay is 21 I think, and Lizzie is 22), so...I dunno.

I am so down for Lizzie to have had previous women love interests, don't get me wrong, but...maybe not Jay's sister? I'm also so down for Ava and Lizzie to have had a history, just...not romantic.

100% the longer I'm in fandom the more I think about ditching my fanfic/fandom tumblr account & only posting fic/fandom stuff on A03 w/no other social links & becoming like, a fandom hermit. Fandom has a lot of BS in it now than it used to back even 10 years ago. I think it's normal esp now that people thing writing 'x' or 'y' = your entire world view w/no room for depth, nuance or complexity. & fandom also seems more entitled w/ randos demanding u stuff all the time vs happy & valuing that something u put work & time into something u made. Completely understand where u r coming from.

I think that's part of it. And honestly, for as much as I love the DSMP and made great friends there, I think that Fandom didn't help. Shipping just straight up Isn't Allowed there (for good reason, respect boundaries people) and now in a new Fandom with the same friends with a perfectly reasonable ship i...feel like I'm doing something wrong? They haven't done anything to make me think that! But just...so conditioned that shipping is bad that now I don't know what to do but...start over.
