Virtue/beast cookies x Royal!Cookie in arranged marriage
(Based on the royaltyxknight trend on TikTok)
Tags: Angst, good endings, violence, The virtues just go by their titles(i subscribe to the theory they werent given names and gave themselves names upon becoming beasts), Adult reader(not like freshly 18 like actually adult), GN! Reader, you marry a prince just for writing convenience also thats typically the trope
Mystic Flour
🌾 - The virtue of volition was devoted to none but her purpose, to aid those beneath her, to those suffering and in need of guidance… yet you were there and she felt inclined to always choose you. The two of you met when your carriage broke in the wilds, her followers found you and allowed you and your men to stay in the pagoda until more could retrieve you.
🌾 - You listened when she needed it and spoke when all she wanted was to hear your voice. You aided her on busy days and relaxed on quiet ones. You were there, you distracted her from the growing greed of cookies, it wasn’t until your own your parents, a king and queen of a nearby land informed you your hand in marriage had been sealed.
🌾 - You had put it off for years, well into your adulthood. Now they were putting their foot down, you wept and fought for a week until finally going to her. You were to marry a prince you had never met, from a land you weren’t familiar and you’d return much more scarcely. Now as a virtue of volition she immediately took to bargaining with the king, she’d pay any amount, she’d let you stay with her, a portion of her own land would be his. She just wanted you to stay with her. But they were offered something larger than what she could give.
🌾 - They allowed her to attend the wedding upon your request. Upon that day, your gaze was on her not the prince. A sorrowful, helpless look that struck a question within her. Were these cookies worth helping?..
It wouldn’t be till a month later when the pagoda was attacked and robbed and she’d finally realize her answer.
🌾 - A month after your wedding, your mind had not yet changed. You had been sold off to sit in a golden palace next to royals who didn’t care about you, a kingdom who looked past their ruler. You sent many letters to The Virtue but it was not the same. You felt lonely. One week, the letters stopped. A plague infiltrated the castle and you were the only one still upright.
🌾 - You had become quite uncaring in the time you spent with these people. They had no regard for those beneath, just how to gain from them. So when your husband, the king tried to bond with you when you were there to care for him, you would not speak.
🌾 - With hope lingering little to none, a cloaked figure appeared in the throne room where you currently sat, she carried a thick fog around her creating a deadly privacy barrier. You were in place of the one you married when he was laid on his deathbed.
🌾 - At first you were scared, for this figure carried death with her. The very fog that was wiping away your peers. But when she approached you further, you saw beyond the veil and recognized your beloved. You ran up to her and ensnared her in a hug. She entered like a bad omen and you were just relieved to see her.
“Return with me.” She says, taking your chin in her hand, wiping tears from your face. Her demeanor has changed, but then again so have you. “They have no care for you here, unlike i.”
You sniffle and nod your head. “Please.. take me, i want only to be with you.”
🌾 - She pulls you close, placing your head on her shoulder and a hand on your back. She took your crown off with two fingers and dropped it on the ground carelessly. “You’re all mine..” she placed a kiss on your forehead.
🌾 - When you returned to the pagoda, you were not royal. You shed your titles, you helped rebuild, you adjusted to a new way of life but you were happy in the serenity. You were happy with Mystic Flour Cookie, the Beast of apathy, your lover.
Burning spice
🏜️ - The Herald of Change blessed your kingdom long ago, only into your adulthood did he visit once more for a celebration. You were told to greet him while your parents, the rulers, delt with something more urgent quietly. They were gone long enough for the both of you to bond over certain foods and activities, he invited you to visit the spice lands some time soon which you accepted.
🏜️ - Much to your parents dismay, you would visit him many, many times. The both of you greatly indulging when there was nothing to do. Beyond that there was an emotional level to your companionship he felt uncomfortable sharing with anyone else.
🏜️ - One day your parents abruptly informed you that you had been wed in exchange for a little piece of land just outside the kingdom. Your whole life was about to fall apart over dirt and rock. You thankfully had the time to take one last trip to The Herald (your new husband didn’t really care to meet you). It wasn’t a happy visit, it would be seen as informal to continue meeting with him after the wedding so this could be your last time with him.
🏜️ - He reassured you it was just a new stage of life, everything goes through change whether it be good or bad. You’d survive, you were strong… but he didn’t believe it. This was all worthless, the kingdom and the land it stood on would all topple one day. Your life was ruined over something meaningless. This.. he’d have to ponder, but you he comforted regardless, gave you all the keepsakes you even looked at and let you go.
🏜️ - The next month was hard, you were now a ruler but you felt like decoration watching aristocrats laugh at the needy. You yearned for open dunes and touring through oasis’s, you yearned for adventure. For thrill. To watch this place burn to the ground… it scared you.
🏜️ - One day the news came, the virtues were corrupted. Uncaring for mortal life and causing havoc around earthbread. Most feared for their riches and self but you could only hope The Herald had not be tainted.. and if he did then maybe he wasn’t as bad as the rest.
🏜️ - The pure truth was Burning Spice missed you dearly, and after pillaging many civilizations he still missed you. He knew what he had to do. He came with no army but himself and his mighty axe. He cut through every guard and defense going straight for the castle. He broke down the door with one swing, then dismantled a group of guards with another.
🏜️ - You saw him approaching from your window but did not know who he was. You were ushered to move somewhere safe but in your time of stagnation you decided to face this threat head on when your peers cowered. You met him face to face in the foyer, no weapon other than your own determination but once you saw him up close you knew. He came forward, knelt and kissed your hand, “Y/N, dear.. i see now the error of my ways and i will mend it now, come and let us tear this castle to the ground!”
🏜️ - Anyone would say no, to defend but you had become sick of a system set in stone that made you a pawn, you were sick of silence and stillness, you were sick of this kingdom. He offered you an apology, he knew he was sending you to suffer but he wanted to make amends. He was offering you his axe slicing through those who wronged you. You said yes, you told him where the obnoxious rulers hid and he swore to avenge you, it was an execution, one you could watch with glee.
Eternal Sugar
🌷 - It was easy to be happy around the Sugar of Happiness, but it was difficult to bring genuine joy to her. You made it seem effortless, no matter what you said she just.. melted. Her features softened her wings loosened, her demeanor just became brighter. The two of you encountered eachother when you were found crying on the outskirts of your castle in a garden, it had been a particularly hard day for you and somehow The Sugar of Happiness just.. appeared like an angel. She cheered you up and the two of you became close soon after.
🌷 - You were bound together like melted sugar glass on an oven. Anything you did she knew about, anytime she wanted to see you, you were out. It was hard to seperate a divine being from a royal heir but the universe always works in twisted ways
🌷 - Betrothed to a king across the sea, somewhere so far you doubted she could even reach. Then you wept again, except this time she could not fix it. It was a sadness that never departed, you were sad because you were being taken from her. You proclaimed would be just as depressed for the rest of your life away from her. She, in secret, pleaded with the royals. Anything they desired would be theirs to just let you stay with her. But they wouldn’t listen. And soon she had to let you go.
🌷 - For some time in the garden she could not let herself help those upset, your words were the only thing she could think of. When she did get back to helping… she had a change of heart. Why grant small pleasures when it would be much better to just stay with her forever?
🌷 - Your sentiment held true, you spent nights by a window and days where those around you tried to heal your melancholy. But this wasn’t your home, these people weren’t your friends, your husband wasn’t her. Those around you decided you’d get better soon enough, assuming it was just adjusting to a new life. Thankfully it didn’t seem like you’d be here much longer.
🌷 - All within the kingdom began to grow lazy, eating treats, avoiding work, spending their time lounging. You barely noticed until it was virtually everyone affected and food had stopped being served to you as there was no one working the fields nor bakery. It was night time, you had no dinner not breakfast but you decided it’d be better to sit alone. you were sitting alone by the window again. The door creaked open behind you, a shadowy figure with messy eyecings and disheveled wings stood in the candle light.
🌷 - She approached slowly, hands extended like she was offering nothing but peace. “Y/N.. i’ve returned for you..” it was her, with exhausted excitement you approached her. She wrapped her wings, tail and arms around you tight. “We can be together forever now.. just us and paradise…” She looked down at you, still cocooning you, despite the innate eeriness she put off, you agreed enthusiastically.
🌷 - She guided you through the halls, sheltering you from whatever atrocities lined them. As you passed h through you swear you saw statues that were not there before, and a king lazing on his throne frozen in time. When you arrive at the garden, you’re assured many times you won’t have to leave, Eternal Sugar will never let you grow sad again or let you be taken from her. You’re stuck together again, you wouldn’t have it any other way. You would always choose a life with her in comfortable robes eating sweet foods than stuffy, anxiety inducing rooms. You would choose her.
Shadow milk
🃏 - You seldom interacted with few cookies out of your own interest but one had caught your eye. A virtue of knowledge who was often called upon to make hard decisions. You were not often in the room for these decisions but once you found him in your library and thus began your bond. After a few visits you were gifted a messenger bird and speaking to him only skyrocketed from there.
🃏 - He was knowledgeable, he was kind, he treated you like you were important. Not important like precious cargo but someone to be cherished. It was a shame all those traits were not present in the prince you were to marry. Of course The Fount of Knowledge tried to speak to the king of the disadvantages of arranged marriages on both ends. It was futile. No one was listening to him, they only wanted to believe what was good for them. It seemed to be a reoccurring theme nowadays.
🃏 - The new kingdom you would be sent away to was simply too far for messenger birds and travelling back and forth. There was little chance the two of you would see eachother again soon, so at the wedding you tried to capture all of the founts features in mind. He gave you many gifts and well wishes before your departure, then it was done. You were gone the next day.
🃏 - Life was as boring as the day before you met him, maybe worse. All you did was sit still all day or on occasion accompany the king elsewhere. The king was apparently a selfless hero but you never saw that side. You did not know what was happening across the continents, if The Fount was ok.
🃏 - Maybe the King was just as bored because one day a jester showed up. He was cunning and comedic as any would be, dancing around and taunting prissy advisors. Something about him felt familiar but you couldn’t place your finger on it. Somehow he got himself invited to the ball taking place some time later, the king must’ve wanted some fun and not watching people spin around all night.
🃏 - You were allowed among the people, it’d be hypocritical if you weren’t given the king was probably out seeking someone else. There you were approached by the Jester, he took your hand to dance while speaking to you under the privacy of a crowd.
“It’s been a while, Y/N, how ya been?” Shadow milk grinned after spinning you around. His hand resting on your hip, too possessive for just a jester.
“I just saw you this morning in the dining room,” you chuckle.
“No silly~” He dipped you and in the shadow obscuring his face you could only see the faint stars in his hair and the color of his eyes, you put the pieces together.
🃏 - You begin questioning and becoming emotional to which he takes you to the secluded library where you can talk all you want. After some answers and affectionate gestures, you tell him you want to run away with him… but the newly named ‘Shadow Milk’ has a better idea.
🃏 - In a feat you were not aware of, he turned himself into a dragon (or at least a dragon like being) holding you hostage. “Renounce the crown to I and i will let your kingdom and ruler free!” A dramatic statement amplified by your pretend screams of fear. When the king yelled, “take them but leave me safe!” The crowd seemed to gasp, turning from the dragon to him. He laughed maniacally, dark smoke ascending to gather at the ceiling.
🃏 - “Not the selfless leader i thought you’d be!” He snarled mockingly then reared back. “Very well! For this kingdoms safety your ruler is mine! Do not search for them lest you wish to die!”
And so after he flew away on large wings, you were free, ruler no more bound by no rules.
🃏 - The kingdom fell into chaos soon after, a complete revolt. All Shadow milk had to do was falsely place you endanger. Now you were living a life you may not have envisioned for yourself in the beginning but enjoyed in the present.
Silent salt (i changed the canon timeline a little for this, silver tree happens some time later after y/n dies, also this maybe longer because this was originally a ssc oneshot but i added the other four)
🗡️ - Lord commander was a busy cookie, but his work was worth it. For peace among cookies yes but also because it inspired someone like you. You were a royal but your parents tried to sell you to a faraway prince. You ended up running away with nothing but clothes and money which only got you so far. You couldn’t survive among the population, you were domesticated and sheltered among the wild.
🗡️ - You were found by the Knights of Kala Namik who didn’t recognize you as the currently missing heir. They invited you to their camp upon finding out you had nowhere to stay. There you met Lord Commander as you were looking for solitude who recognized you. He promised not to send you back, he didn’t seem to like the idea of cookies being treated like property.
🗡️ - Since your original meeting the two of you didn’t separate, you rode on his horse, came to him for even the smallest gifts or questions and he came to you when he needed a break. You once believed love was assigned, but you understood in the year you spent with The Lord Commander and his people what it truly was… just for all to be stripped away when you were finally happy.
🗡️ - They had found you, your kingdom. Someone had let loose you were hiding with him, someone had revealed who you were. A meeting was held, the terms were simple. Just hand you over and no one has to be hurt. This was a fight The Lord Commander could win but you didn’t want cookies to be hurt just over you, because you wanted freedom. So you went, they tried to stop you but you thanked them for all they did for you, for a brief taste of what community felt like and departed.
🗡️ - The next week you were wed. The next day you were traveling across the continent to a new kingdom. Just there, just looking into crowds and horizons hoping your friends didn’t see you like this, hoping he didn’t. Your only duty right now was to exist as decoration, potential energy to be used later.
🗡️ - About a month later you had heard the great battles and misinformation being spread amuck in the neighboring lands you used to visit frequently. While the Kings advisors and council were concerned of battle reaching them, you feared for your friends. You tried to ask if someone would send a letter or check on them but you received only dismissal. The next few days were hardest, you had heard of the chaos but gained no details.
🗡️ - A massacre at the stronghold. The salt flats torn apart. No signs of life. They had tried to hide it from you but you overheard the conversation and ran to hide in the garden. Hours passed, it was now sunset. None had come to offer you comfort, not even your husband. You didn’t know if anyone was alive, if Lord Commander was alive.
Then there was a sound in the bushes.
🗡️ - Out came a dark armored knight wielding a serrated sword almost as long as you are tall. The knight reeked of ash and crumbs. You gasped and stood from the stone bench, but… you looked closer towards the symbols on his armor.
“My love…” He knelt on the ground, the sword clattering as he let go of it.
🗡️ - You didn’t waste another moment, despite the much more sinister appearance and the grime coating the armor you still fell to your knees in front of him and embraced him tightly. Jam and dirt coated your royal garments as he held you tightly to him. He held you like someone was about to take you again. His armored fingers scraped each embroidered design and gemstone on your clothing.
🗡️ - “Give me the word and i will tear down this castle with everyone inside.” He proclaims with a quiet, pleading voice. His hands taking yours gently, he squeezes them just enough to drive his point. The fact someone so devoted to bringing peace would so easily commit such an atrocity at your own word frightened you. “No.. no i just want to be with you…”
🗡️ - He understood, he said no more, just reveled in your presence after so long separated. You faked your murder that night and escaped at long last. You were no longer bound to any royal. With no stronghold, the Faeries accepted you at Silent Salts command. At nights he’d visit and then leave in the morning. You’d find preserved flowers by your window and handwritten letters. You hear news of the beasts fighting, Silent Salts on a constant mission to crumble them. Every night he’s covered in blood, whether it’s his or theirs you greet him the same.
