You swear there’s never going to be another. You swear God didn’t duplicate eyes that looked to you like you had sunsets embedded in your melanin It seems impossible that another’s tongue could fill in the blank spaces living inside your mouth His hands knew too well how to dance across the small of your back and you’re too reminded of him to teach another the rhythm You want to forget him but you’ll lose the memories of the you you love most too. So you massage thoughts of him present in your temple Maybe he’s gone somewhere to wait for you Maybe someone else is waiting Little darling, somebody’s waiting somewhere Give fate time to teach you.
