Seems to be a robot designed to seek out humans or identified entities capable of pressing buttons and follow them at a medium pace.
Pushing the button activates the robots self destruction mechanism, killing whoever pressed the button. Outside of this, the robot is harmless. The robot may lose interest in a target if they ignore it long enough.
