Reminiscing about TeamRocket-Video
I recently rediscovered an old Pokemon fansite favorite of mine, thanks to @james-kojirou who shared the URL: teamrocket-video.com, which we can still see bits of on the WayBack Machine. Previously I was reminiscing about the AMVs on the site, especially the Jessie-centric Don't Speak AMV, and also the Mewtwo-centric Kryptonite AMV, and most recently I was talking about the Team-Rocket-centric Whip It AMV with @meruhenshoujo on an unrelated post, and figured I might as well make another post!
So let me do so by next squeeing over the Team Rocket-centric Double Trouble AMV. I didn't get to see this completed AMV back in the day, but I do know I saw some of the sneak-peek previews on teamrocket-video. It seems the full AMV was later completed and published to animemusicvideos.org.
This AMV is a tribute to the Double Trouble Pikachu's Jukebox that aired on Kids' WB back in the day. The official video for this anime ending only covered about a minute, but the full version of the song is over three minutes long and was used in the Pokemon Live stage show and was released on Pokemon soundtrack CDs. I remember watching the Pikachu Jukebox video for this song and loving it very much, and when I later heard the full song, I was left wishing for more, since the full song has a lot of fun lyrics that would be great to see get the same treatment.
Well, this AMV is an answer to that! This fanmade video preserves a lot of the original Pikachu's Jukebox footage (and not just that, but was also painstakingly edited frame-by-frame to remove the Kids' WB logo, yiiiikes!) and it also adds unique music-video goodness in a similar spirit to the original, extending to cover the rest of the song! So nice!!!
In fact, it's so nice, it was really hard to find a video of the original Pikachu's Jukebox segment to compare it against. It seems a lot of people mistakenly think the fan video is official and reposted it as such! But there are a few fun tells that this is a fanmade video: there's the censored footage from the then-banned Safari Zone and Acapulco episodes featuring James holding a gun and James wearing a bikini. 4Kids would have never done that in the official video, lol.
So, yeah, it's kinda cool how so many Pokemon AMVs that stuck with me from back in the day were actually several all from this same site! Even over twenty years later, they have been replaying spontaneously in my head and have been super important to me!

Rosy’s been wanting to improve at drawing clothing folds, so I found a bunch of clothing ads featuring nice big sleeves and we drew them together. Rosy took some liberties and converted them into her characters, but I stuck with drawing anonymized fashion models.
