Fanfic - About Me tag meme. Tagged by @solradguy (thank you ^ ^).
How many works do you have on AO3?: 66. I'm not certain that I would die if I stopped writing, but at this point I'm afraid to find out.
What fandoms do you write for?: A variety. I have many interests.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?:
Pound of Discretion — A rare instance where I wrote for a ship with some degree of a following. This was for a gift exchange event, and I love how it came out. I love two goobers with terrible communication skills crushing on each other.
Amendment — I guess this makes sense. Elden Ring is popular and Morgott shows up in this. It's a series of vignettes following my Tarnished, Tourma. If you want to see a gruff, lesbian war veteran stumble into adopting an omen infant and getting engaged to a demigoddess, this is the series for you.
A Miner Miscommunication — I'm surprised by this one, but Hodari was popular enough for the devs to add him to the pool of romanceables in an update, so maybe I shouldn't be. PTSD is a bitch, and Hodari knows it first-hand. When he lets his fears drive him, he put himself and his relationship with Nanar in danger.
Sanctuary: in Identity — Probably the strongest in the "Sanctuary" series, which is a collection of short Astarion/Uk'el (my half-orc cleric of Ilmater) pieces, so yeah. I like clothing as a metaphor for identity in fiction (it's just so ripe), and that's exactly what this fic is. Astarion throws a hissy fit over what looks from the outside like a generous gift, and Uk'el pulls him aside to have an honest conversation about it.
To Be Changed — Ah, my other peice exploring clothing as a metaphor for identity. Shane Stardew Valley tears his already tattered hoodie in a drunken fit. Tavi (my farmer) repairs it as a gesture expressing that just because something (or someone) is worn threadbare doesn't mean it(/they) aren't capable of being or deserving help. Even so, how far can repairs go before you've built a ship of Theseus? It's a complex question, and while the fic expresses an opinion, it doesn't offer a clean resolution.
Do you respond to comments?: I do my best to.
What is the fic you wrote with angstiest ending?: Probably Godafrid's Questline. It's a fictional NPC sidequest for Elden Ring. It's only natural. :)
What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?: It's difficult to compare (I have a number), but maybe A Never-Melt Heart? A lonely little Snom stumbles into a town full of holiday cheer. Watch the sweet, little thing encounter various people and Pokemon who all share the holiday spirit with it in their own way. <3
Do you get hate on fics?: Not so far.
Do you write smut? If so, which kind?: Yes. All sorts. Lesbian co-workers messing around in the locker room, domestic fluff for a couple hoping to start a family, gods accidentally peeping on mortals... If it's hetero, you can put money on it being one of my beloved, terrible, grey-moralled women chasing their bliss (often by bullying sad, tired men into sex). I have a few monsterfucker pieces in the works... I want to get weirder with it.
Do you write crossovers?: No. I don't like crossovers.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?: Not to my knowledge.
Have you ever had a fic translated?: I don't think so.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?: Kind of. If you count original works, absolutely. Not any of the ones I have on AO3, though.
What's your all-time favorite ship?: Is it cheating if it's my OC x a character whose screen time was so minor that my characterization of them is essentially an OC too? If yes, Cyrus/Godot. You would need to hunt me down to get me to elaborate.
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?: Too many to name them all. Although, I do hope to finish them all some day, no matter how long it takes. So maybe "none" would be a better answer.
What are your writing strengths?: Dialogue. Hurt/comfort. Minor twist endings. Being horny for unconventional things.
What are your writing weaknesses?: Run-on sentences, my beloveds. <3 Knowing when to break dialogue for description...
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?: I think the only time I've done it has been a character giving a standard Chinese New Year's greeting. In general, I have no strong feelings. Used deliberately, I'm sure it can have its utility.
First fandom you wrote for?: Rune Factory.
Favorite fic you've written?: Not Every Day. I'm gay.
