Ryan Bergara - Ghost Hunting Date
Ryan Bergara x Fem!Reader

A/N: Another Buzzfeed one! This one, however, I did write it originally in a Fem!reader POV, but that is only mentioned once. You can definitely change the ‘girlfriend’ part to whatever you prefer it to and the rest seems like a non-binary POV after that. I really like writing this one and there was definitely a lot of things I wanted to add in (like a spirit box session for example) but since in Buzzfeed Unsolved episodes those interactions and discoveries are genuine, I don’t know how I would portray and put that type of that genuine experience we see in film, so I opted it out and did an ouija board instead. I hope it’s good and you like it!
“So Ryan and I are going to Valhalla Cemetery to add on Ryan’s investigation to answer the question, ‘are ghosts real?’” You said with a warm smile. Doing the intro gave you a spark of confidence. “Although Shane is actually on vacation with Sara, I offered to travel with Y/N to this cemetery to hunt some ghouls.” Ryan looked at you as you lifted you go pro attached to your selfie stick. “As well as bring my lovely girlfriend on a ghost hunting date.” Ryan said with a sweet smile. His smile can light up the entire LA sky. Man, this boy can do wonders with just his smile. You could just appreciate everything about Ryan all day and night. The Good Ol’ Berg Mister definitely had your heart. His eyes glowed with adoration as he held your hand with a matching go pro in the other. “You ready?” He asked. “Yup. Ready to hunt these ghouls.” You said with a big smile and a quick peck on Ryan’s lips.
Personally you yourself wasn’t a skeptic nor believer. A ‘Shitfish’ Ryan and Shane would call it, but you were pretty lenient to some ‘evidence’. Some seemed legit, while others were complete horse-shit. Walking around you came around several graves until Ryan and the crew called you over to the big mausoleum. Ryan told the story of how a smaller plane had crashed into the structure, that was meant to honour those who died in plane crashes. The thought of it did make a small shiver climb your spine. “Okay, any spirits here wanting to speak with us, now is the time to make your presence known. We’re giving you one moment of silence to move something, make a sound or send us a sign. Silence begins now.” Ryan said as he held his microphone out to the open air. Nothing but cicadas echoed in the night as you looked around. Although from the flashlights, you saw some figure walking towards you and the crew. You crooked you head to the direction of the figure only to see it dissolve in front of your eyes. You scrunched your eyebrows, thinking it was your imagination. But then, you saw it again, but it was sitting on a gravestone not that far from Ryan. You bolted your head to look at it again, only for it to disappear. “What?” Ryan broke the silence, as he looked in the same direction you did.
“Nothing. It’s just my eyes playing tricks on me that’s all.” You dismissed it, truly hoping you could believe that yourself. Or was it? “Are you sure?” Ryan said holding your hand, getting a little paranoid when you said that. “Don’t worry about it Ryan, I promise.” You consoled him, your hand caressing his cheek before landing back in his hand.
“So to finish our investigation date, we’re going to use Y/N’s Ouija board. You say this is a bunch of bullshit though, right?” Ryan said with a semi-laugh as he helped you unbox it. “Yeah sorry, Ryan. I mean if they sell it to children, it should be just another marketing scam toy that does absolutely nothing.” You shook your head in a ‘matter-of-fact’ expression. Ryan only scoffed, as you helped him getting everything ready. “Just watch, it’ll work Y/N.” he said.
As Ryan asked the first question, you felt absolutely nothing move. Nor a certain energy around you. Scoffing, you began talking, growing impatient at the ghost’s non-existent response. “Ryan, this isn’t going to work-“ “Wait! Look!” He suddenly cut you off, as you felt the planchet move on its own to the word yes. It moved at a fast pace, as Ryan’s eyes widened. “You didn’t do that, did you? Don’t fuck with me, Ryan!” You said in a panic. “No, I swear to God Y/N, I’m barely touching it!” He said as you see Ryan’s fingers almost hovering over the planchet. “My fingers are pressing hard on it, and I know I didn’t move it.” You said softly. This definitely added to their investigation. “Can you tell us your name?” Ryan asked as he looked around him; paranoid. The two of you felt something surround the two of you. A certain energy floated around the two of you. Although silence filled the graveyard air, the planchet didn’t move much after three more questions. Barely making out words the two of you ended the session with a goodbye. As it finished, you immediately found yourself in Ryan’s arms. You laid in his arms for a while, listening to the ghoul hunter’s breathing and heartbeat that filled your ears. “Are you okay?” You asked him, as he seemed more shaken than you did. “Yeah, yeah I am now, with you by my side.” He said as he gave you a kiss as his hands made their way to your waist. You gave a smile, playing with the collar of his jacket. “My ghoul hunter has some evidence to show Long Legs Madej doesn’t he?” You exclaimed happily with a warm smile; wanting to be back his spirits up. It seemed to have worked. “Oh definitely.” Ryan said with that amazing smile and laugh of his.
