Hey so after 2x10 i’m definitely not shipping them romantically, but it’s alright i’m gonna answer it as friendship/family because those relationships are as important as the NON platonic ones if not more! And theirs is pretty interesting because wow. 🔪🔪🔪
23. - How do they hug? Kiss? Tease? Flirt? Comfort?
Reluctantly!! lmao. They never hug in public because they have to keep up the mortal enemies facade. But i like to think that sometimes they go through things that only each other can really understand, and they have a complicated history and bond. Isobel feels connected to Maria (and Mimi) and almost responsible for them in a way. She might not know a good way to do it (and not even really understand it) but she wants to protect Maria and be able to comfort her. So if she thinks Maria looks tired or distraught, she asks Michael for tips, because she knows just throwing expensive gifts her way won’t really work. And she is kind of forced to get to know Maria better.
Maria’s first instinct if Isobel needs comforting will also be to call Michael or Max, but sometimes Isobel doesn’t want to, or it’s not something that they can understand, so she will do her best. Her second instinct is to offer acetone. And long conversations. Maybe online shopping.
29. - How do they handle disasters or emergencies? Minor injuries? Sickness?
They might have a complicated relationship but they will be there if the other is in danger. They’ll use their powers to help if they have to. If Isobel gets injured, Maria will call Michael Max and Kyle in priority. She stacks nail polish remover for all of the pod squad anyway, just in case.
In case of sickness, at first Maria will not want to leave work, so Isobel will have to make her or bribe her. Maybe she will promise to bartend in her place and Maria wants to see Isobel bartend so bad that she will accept.
Even though she is part of the pod squad which means she is immune to it, Isobel isn’t super great at doing the nurse thing if needed. But she will try. She will go to the pharmacy, provide blankets, prepare soup that Maria will pretend to eat and then throw away in secret.
31. - Do they finish each other’s sentences? Pick up any phrases or habits from each other? Know when the other is hiding something?
If they pick up habits from each other by mistake they are horrified by it. One thing that can be fun tho, is if Isobel picks up style habits from Maria. Like she will deny it but she loves and admires the way Maria dresses so confidently and she wishes she could pull it off. So she tries, and it’s like almost unconscious and it’s really just little things like bracelets, earrings. Maria notices and she is a little bit annoyed and a little bit flattered.
I also think they know when the other is hiding something because they have known each other long enough to know how the other one function. So they can easily tell something is up!
