Let's talk about it!!! Because I'm committing some big decisions that are pretty much gonna change everything about Med's character
I'm basically rewriting Med's character, finally giving him some backstory besides just saying its deer in headlights. Mainly doing this to further highlight that Banhammer and Medkit in BWD au are REALLY different from canon and that medhammer could never happen if they were their normal in character selves. I think the excuse of the experiments changing his personslity aren't sufficient enough.
I also wanted to go further and expand on a idea I've had for his motivations in the past.
In terms of BWD's story it doesn't affect that much because the changes just pertain to Medkit's past and motivations. And BWD never really cared about the events of DITF or even earlier, it was always about the what if timeskip after DITF.
So all the previous stuff and art isnt retconned or invalid, dw abt that.
I dont wanna say what exactly im changing but he's definitely not the canon Medkit we know or even my deer in headlights au (which is basically canon bfr), it's a facade. That's all Im gonna say bc I wanna make a short comic related to this and dont wanna spoil the fun.

This is old art (pls give me a pat on the back for finally posting) and a old theory that occurred to me in the shower while I was hallucinating charcoal on the walls from working on my college portfolios every waking hour of the day.
If Medkit really was able to engineer life returning crystals by himself then color me impressed, but I think the entire thing is just too fishy. What if the Spawn is an actual tangible god way beyond the comprehension of any inphernal, and Medkit gained their blessing but also was terrified ash.
Obviously more a au than a theory tho lol
This actually ties into BWD as well, because he further loses respect for The Swords as Gods because of this, instead of being terrified like canon med he chases after this divinity and wants to meet The Spawn again.

I like to think this all happens during the wanted arc (when Medkit is undercover on the run and extremely dangerous but still tries and manages to get Banhammer on his side and then sweet danger plays in the betrayal scene GUHFJGKGJG)

About youre bwd au, how long ago did sword find out medkit was still alive or reconnected? In my head, it's like 7/7 yrs split. I'd love to see more sword and med in your au
Also, this has been toiling in the back of my brain for a while. Do you think medkit sometimes revives subspace from the dead? Whenever the inmates in the lower levels run out or he can't torture any of the inmates. That's gotta be a painful existence. It feels like there's no time between being tortured, so it just feels endless suffering and pain
And do you think Scythe would attempt to break broker out, only to fail and barely get out with her life? Knowing that she can't even attempt to do it again? It's gotta suck for her :p

When Medkit was allowed to go public again 20 years have passed since he has disappeared. Obviously Sword is incredibly confused and befuddled.
He basically became a conspiracy theorist, didn't trust Medkit at all. Then he was just mad as hell that Medkit disappeared without a word and refuses to tell him where he was. Eventually he forgave him because he sees that clearly Med's been through some shit.
You're so right!! I need to give Sword's and Med's relationship more limelight because it is very fun.
Speaking of underdeveloped characters. I haven't even talked about Subspace in this au, but he's NOT actually dead. I might draw it out l8r but he has transfered his consciousness into a very high tech Biograft, it's basically a Dr. Robotnik esc situation. So yes, he's still out there.
Inmates in lower levels NEVER run out lol, they basically only increase now since the prosecution rate is higher and the death penalty is lower because Medkit believes death is a reprieve. He also doesn't go down specifically to torture inmates, as it can trigger some unpleasant memories and set him off. Med is sent as the go to torturer if they REALLY REALLY need info from a specific inmate or if someone got under his skin. Most prisoners shudder and shake at the mere mention of the second warden and willingly give everything you may ask for.
Scythe is actually the one thats perpetually trapped, Broker is the only one that still seems to consistently break out and its widely believed he has a favor with one of the Swords that allows him to do so, and even then his escape attempts have been halved by 80% compared to what it looked like before. Generally Scythe has become way more mellow since Father has been imprisoned and poses no threat anymore.

Phew finally done, I’m ngl this was a slog to get thru. I also cut a whole scene with Coil where Medkit has a little monologue.
So yeah, here’s the new backstory for Med from this au. He’s been raised with deception built into his dna, from the very moment he was spawned he was cultivated by Blackrock to become a top spy for the country. First to infiltrate their science division and spy on the employees to make sure nobody’s going out of line, then was „on the run” and infiltrated a Blackrock rebellion, subsequently busting them down.
Then he was sent to Lost Temple to meddle with their main governing organization, The church of The true eye.
Now…he’s with Banhammer, apparently betraying both organizations. But is that really true? Wink wink
Perhaps he always had his own agenda.
The cut scene showed their time at Playground, with Banhammer seeing why Coil does what he does. Small time criminals being oppressed by the larger entity. Medkit looks at that and starts to wonder if he could be forgiven, excused too.
As for the future of BWD. I think I'd like to slowly move towards posting original stuff and other fandoms besides Phighting. That doesn't mean I still don't love the au or that I'll stop answering asks (I see them btw I'll get to em very soon since this storyboard is finally finished) but I'd like to grow more and spread my wings as a artist.
Also I fear I'll never move on from Medkit LMAO I need to be proactive /hj

While I haven't been playing roblox regularly in a while because of college preparations I did watch videos in the bg that appeared on my timeline, and its really upsetting how Roblox is trying to blatantly erase their roots.
Considering how far I got with getting into a top film school, and that ill be going to a 3D modelling focused field in my college.
I'm seriously thinking of giving the idea another try.

What is Rocket opinion about Medkit return?, did he blame Mefkit about what happen to Sword in dift, end in coma for nine years and could die in any moment?.

Rocket in the beginning was kinda mad, he ofc was happy he was found safe but also annoyed as hell that he put them through all that trauma once again and gone missing. Kinda sick of his bs.
He did blame him yeah. And there's a lot of animosity between them now. Rocket is subconciously thinking Medkit might just up and disappear one day. He also doesn't trust him at all because of how secretive Med is being about what happended to him. He just cant go through this shit again.
The ONLY reason Medkit is even allowed in the vicinity of Sword anymore is because Sword just adores him so much despite all of what happended.
Also way laterr on in the au Windforce puts in a good word as well.

I'm absolutely smitten with your style of work and art-style. The way you articulate emotions and facial expressions through such interesting colors and lines is brilliant. I'd also like to say, your gradient scale; or color pallets. Are so honestly pleasing to me that it scratches my little brain.
As an extra point too, your medkit design is BEAUTIFUL. I have a thing for slight stubble on medkit because he just looks weird without it; and you made the absolute picture perfect design for me. He's genuinely the apple of my eye when I see your page.
And of course, we can't forget Banhammer. Banhammer is such a jerk, but the way he's learning is so pleasing to see.
How he goes from "Lmao screw you criminal I'm better taste my hammer" to "Okay wait hang on bro you have a REASON???" ITS SO NICE!!! The way you characterize both Medkit and Banhammer is so genuinely pleasing, please continue to write and draw. I'm like you're number one phan bro. Please never stop being creative.

So far all my predictions for Medkit have been true so if Soda ever makes a humanized design and he's got a stubble...call me Apollo /j
And I'm also so excited for the Banhammer comment hehe I havent made nearly as much content of him as I have for BWD!Medkit and yet clearly my intentions for him are clear and readable enough for you guys, very happy about that. He seems a little bit like a spoiled nepo baby to me in that sense (could be considered a foil to Medkit) and I think a story that makes him break out of that mindset could be very interesting and fun for his character.
I don't plan on stopping creating anytime soon :]
I may take breaks sometimes and focus on other things but as long as I'm alive I'll continue to make thingmajobs and blips, you have my word.
As for the side note, Windforce is The only Sword that's privy to Banhammer's whereabouts (he could not live with himself if his momma worried)
She intends on keeping a secret, and none of The Swords want to press Windforce all that much. Venomshank and Firebrand sure tried, but its a losing battle.
That being said she is still on The Swords side, and is trying to actively peer pressure her son into betraying Medkit at the most opportune moment of the investigation.
