im actually forever confused about why xie lian doesn't get his 'luck' back after the shackles are removed
its not even like, what the majority of your believers believe about you goes in this case because hua cheng has been the only believer for centuries and continues to be one
and what happened in book 4 is mainly rumours that bwx caused because of his interference in just about everything
so why is it still said that once he gets new believers after the battle with jun wu, people have to worship hua cheng alongside him or they'll get bad luck?
xie lian: *doesn't know whether to laugh or cry*
bai wuxiang: I Have The Perfect Mask For You
Bai Wuxiang from TGCF for this year's drawtober prompt: Ghost
So I was watching star wars with my dad and sister and while we were watching, I realised how many mxtx things came from this:
Wwx's arc to becoming the yllz is just Anakin becoming Darth Vader
The bwx 'face reveal' as xl was the scene in ep 5 when Luke went to that part of Dagobah and confronted Darth Vader, revealing that under the mask he was Luke (not really)
And early hualian (Hong-er falling off the wall) was Padme and Anakin's dynamic of royalty bonding with a young nobody, destined for romance in the future
traces of calamity (1/2)
!HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD!
Jun Wu’s eng voice might be the hottest deepest voice i’ve ever heard, however
I do like the original Jun Wu’s dub much more
Because! And it’s not a complaint, no, the writer and the va did an amazing job
But!
They made him a little too obvious.
In the book I could NEVER suspect Jun Wu of anything, he seemed genuinely good, wise and just
I mean I was spoiled from the begging that he is an asshole
and I fucking FORGOT, because he just was so G O O D
And that’s what’s SO AWESOME about him as the main fucking villain, and as a character in general
Because once he genuinely was this good. And he probably really wanted to be. Wanted to pretend that he still can be.
Because he pretended far too well.
And in the original chinese dub it’s absolutely the same. He doesn’t feel like a villain.
Not at ALL. He is like a tired, wise and strict, but good-meaning and caring parent.
His manipulations are so incredibly good
Because they go unnoticed.
I absolutely adore him as a character, this mad ass with two opposite personalities, seemingly saint at one and pure evil at the other
But what do you think? Did you ever suspect Jun Wu while reading the books?
Or maybe he was also more obvious in the English version and just wasn’t in my language?
