                             “   it’s fairly simple really.   once you get the idea of how it all works, y’know, at a  SUBATOMIC  level, it’s all the same really. natural or  supernatural.   ”     she’s spending half her attention on the equipment before her     (   spanner in hand, just doing a few  ADJUSTMENTS   )     and the other half focused on her little  explanation,  at request of the other of course. it’s rare that people show any interest in how the busters work, and holtzmann will never waste an opportunity  !   liz seems happy enough to stand beside and listen, so she’s happy enough to  TALK.  a smile turns up corners of her mouth as she speaks.     “   so then it’s really just a matter of ——   ”

          all of a sudden does her talking  end  as the space between them very simply  CLOSES  and painted lips press against her own. inot without a level of  SHOCK,  certainly, and for a long few seconds holtzmann seems almost  frozen ;  eyes wide and hardly  believing  just yet, while a hand hovers off to the side, fingers still  CLUTCHED  around her spanner and unsure what they’re supposed to  do  at this point.

                    but…  well, it is NICE, isn’t it  ?   thoughts flicker over how long it is since she’s had a  kiss  but quickly drop the question.  liz is certainly BEAUTIFUL. and, in fact…  a rather good kisser.  and slowly does holtzmann seem to  RELAX.  hands lower, if only slightly, eyes flutter themselves closed     (   is she kissing back  ?   this is all pretty  SURREAL   ).     when the moment ends it takes her a few seconds to…  unfreeze.  take a breath  &  open her eyes  &  find herself  BACK IN REALITY.     “   staying on the same…  subatomic level.   ”     QUIET, mumbled words. she clears her throat. looks up.     “   that was…  nice.   ”
