Got a backlog of OFMD art to share here.

This one is a redraw of my first ever sketch of Izzy back from last August.

I always find it so interesting to see how people’s style has changed over time and with effort/practice. I didn’t bother to add Ed and Stede in the beginning as I wasn’t very confident drawing multiple figures… I guess I’ve gotten more patient.

Enjoy the details as I did: scars, freckles and silly tattoos.

when your parents are snakes

threat displays are self preservation

and its up to you to tiptoe around them.

now back up slowly and quietly, pay attention

walking away means risking getting bitten

and though you might suck out the poison

you’ll still be left with venom.

we’re on the run from genetics, 

but not quite orphaned,

there’s just no word for that kind of abandonment.

in the animal kingdom often parents eat their young.

competition for territory is rife

but human parents are supposed to support you for life.

the problem is that some are less scaffolding 

and more of a slow knife

but in the end its better to bleed once 

than for the rest of your life.

He could do his job. He could give Ed what he needed: the fine and fancy life. The softness that had driven him into Bonnet’s arms. Izzy could give it all to him. He could do better.

He would do better.

If Ed would just give him the chance to try again. '

I’ve been enjoying this story way too much.

LOVE an Izzy sickfic that slips slowly into SteddyHands. Add sword fighting lessons, a birthday party, sonnet writing, ballroom dancing and I’m yours.

I will not listen 🙉 Also Frenchie patches up his loved ones clothes with cuteness. Four leaf clovers 🍀 for Wee John and good luck. Please offer up suggestions for other crew members. My relationship with colour is still awkward and neither of us is sure who should pay or whether it’s even a date ✌🏽

Sometimes I scribble the beloved Blackbeard for an hour or so before bed… This will be an entire page of him. Practice makes pirates!
