He was absolutely smitten. The poor general didn’t stand a chance when you walked through the monastery gates that day.

The Archbishop’s coronation meant you were spirited away and hidden from sight for a full week beforehand in order to prepare. No one was allowed to see you; not even your fiancée.

He wasn’t sure how he felt about that, but per Seteth’s insistence, this was how it had to be. Besides, it was only a week-- it really wasn't that serious. 

Distance makes the heart grow fonder, or so the saying went. He was convinced this was the truth, however, when you walked through the cathedral doors.

You were breathtaking.

He stood at the side of the ceremonial altar, and it was as if he was watching his bride walk down the aisle. Seteth cleared his throat next to him. Dedue’s mouth was hanging open.

It clamped shut in a split second, but his eyes never once left your frame. You exuded elegance in that dress. It was the first time he’d seen you in one in all the years he’d known you. Even at the school dances, you were in armor. This was uncharted territory, and he was utterly defenseless.

Your shoulders were bare, and the garment flattered you at every dip and curve. The exquisite fabric billowing around you as though you’d become an angel.

Dedue’s heart pounded in his chest, and he was sure the heat on his cheeks was painfully visible at this point.

He had only confessed his love to you in the last few days. But now he had seen you like this, walking towards him with such poise, such beauty and grace…

It was an undeniable truth.

You were the only woman in this world he would marry. 

And to think it took a glance at you in a white dress to seal the deal. He made sure to bury that thought deep down in his mind...the teasing would be relentless if it ever slipped out.

(Eventually it would, nearly six months after your wedding. The teasing was kept to a minimum, for the sake of his poor red face).

I don’t often post on this blog, but I just had to share the adorable dolls I’ve gotten from @venomandblossom !

I got Dedue a while back and I’ve loved him so much! I just got Byleth yesterday, and she’s so cute I’m gonna scream. The details on both of them are just so perfect.

@venomandblossom is seriously amazing, I’m definitely commissioning again in the future!
