So I just started and finished “The Siren’s Lament” on WebToon and I felt that little ache in my chest reminding me what heartbreak feels like. Vaguely considered having a drink even though it’s like 5 AM on a Sunday. So I tried to text my friend only to discover he must have changed his phone number and I really truly lost all contact with him, and that is more painful than anything I’ve ever experienced. Not to make him feel like he should give me another chance; if he lost contact with me, I’m sure he has his reasons and he doesn’t need to explain them to me. But it does put things into perspective. I’m going to mourn the loss of a friendship, put that amazing “This is not a corndog” shirt in a box with all the pictures of my ex, have a glass of vodka, take a shower, go to bed, wake up and move forward with my life because I know he has.
